Café Assistant – Café Vic Ryn
Join our friendly café team at Café Vic Ryn as a Café Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to help create a warm, welcoming environment for our customers. You’ll be part of a supportive team, providing excellent service while helping the café run smoothly during busy periods.
This is a paid, part-time position of 10.5 hours per week, working Monday day time and Thursday evenings, with the potential for additional hours depending on business needs and availability.
Duties
Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately and efficiently
Prepare and serve coffee, tea and other beverages following café recipes and standards
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the café
Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions accurately
Support colleagues during busy periods and help ensure efficient service
Restock supplies and keep work areas organised
Skills & Experience
Friendly, approachable and confident manner with customers
Good communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Previous café or barista experience is desirable but not essential
Ability to work efficiently and remain organised during busy periods
Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and measuring ingredients
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Reliable and punctual, with availability for Monday day time and Thursday evening shift.

Pay
Up to £12.71 per hour, depending on experience.
