What an August it’s been at Nero 🇮🇹❤️

New specials, pizzas flying out of the oven, plenty of pasta, busy tables and so many familiar faces walking through our doors… it’s been a brilliant end to the summer here in Linlithgow.

As August comes to a close, we just wanted to say a huge thank you to every single person who joined us for dinner, ordered a takeaway or delivery, picked up a little something from our Italian deli, recommended us to a friend or simply continued to support Nero ❤️

We never take a busy restaurant for granted, and seeing you enjoying what we do makes all the hard work behind the scenes worth it.

Now September is calling, the evenings are getting a little cooler and we’re more than ready for cosy nights, comforting Italian food and plenty more full tables 🇮🇹🍝

Is it just us, or has autumn arrived a little early? 🍂🇮🇹

The temperature has dropped, the weekend is here, and suddenly a big bowl of pasta sounds exactly right…

Our “Rosa piccante” Pappardelle is tossed in a rich tomato sauce with ’nduja, mascarpone and Parmesan — creamy, a little spicy and proper comfort food for a cooler Friday 🍝

Our meatballs are the star of the show… 🤩

Slowly cooked in a rich ragù until they’re tender and full of flavour.

Then here come the crispy Twister Fries Generously topped with our meatballs and ragù, before being finished with freshly grated Parmesan and parsley.

There’s always something new to discover on our deli shelves 🇮🇹

Alongside all the food coming out of our kitchen, we’ve filled our deli shelves with plenty of Italian favourites worth taking home too.

Proper Italian pasta, including gluten-free options, pistachio creams and sauces, panettone, biscuits, preserves, speciality ingredients and some seriously beautiful Italian wines 🍷

The shelves are becoming just as tempting as the menu 👀 Whether you’re stocking the kitchen, choosing a bottle for the weekend or feeding a pistachio obsession, there’s plenty to tempt you.

FEATURED SPECIAL OF THE WEEK 🍕

This week, Roberto is taking us behind the scenes as he prepares one of our newest specials 🇮🇹

Starting by stretching the dough by hand, Roberto adds our tomato base before layering on meatballs, spicy ’nduja and onions, then it’s straight into the oven 🔥 Once it’s out, he adds creamy ricotta, a generous grating of Parmesan and finishes it with a final drizzle of fresh pesto 🍃

Rich, creamy, a little spicy and packed with Italian flavour.

Our brand-new sign is up, and we have to say, we absolutely love seeing our name up there.

The weekend starts here 🤩

Our new specials are available from today, bringing together rich Italian flavours and a few indulgent new creations.

From slow-cooked ragù and handmade pappardelle to a pizza topped with meatballs, nduja, ricotta and pesto, there’s plenty to discover 🥳

On the menu:

- Nonna’s Meatballs — Handmade meatballs, slow-cooked in a rich ragù, finished with fresh parsley and Parmesan. A family classic, served the way it should be.

- Calabrisella pizza — Tomato base, homemade meatballs, spicy nduja, red onion, spoonfuls of creamy ricotta, parmesan and a drizzle of pesto. Calabrian heat meets ricotta’s sweetness

- Rosa piccante Pappardelle - Fresh pappardelle wrapped in a tomato, onion and nduja sauce, softened with mascarpone and finished with parmesan. Creamy, spicy, irresistible

- Nonna’s Twister Dirty Fries – Twister fries, homemade meatballs in ragù, parmesan and fresh parsley

-Strawbology – Fresh strawberries, white chocolate, hazelnuts and Twix chunks.
