How are we into our 6th year of Slow Rise?! Let’s reminisce on how it all began 🥹🍕❤️

We first of all took the plunge and bought a Gozney | Outdoor Pizza Ovens ROCCBOX. At this point in time having a pizza business was a bit of a pipe dream. But we thought if we invested in this initial piece of kit that we might just be able to turn this dream into a reality.

And so the pizza making experiments began!! After numerous disaster pizza making nights and thinking to ourselves we have no hope at this (😅) we managed to make our first ever successful Neapolitan style pizza (the one you see here). The excitement we felt this night was beyond and gave us the boost we needed to start properly developing our business.

And so a logo idea came to mind 💡 this was the first ever hand drawn logo we popped on a box. Not too far from what it is today!

We practiced and practiced, perfecting our dough recipes and oven skills.

Then we took an almighty plunge and invested in a full mobile catering set-up and began offering out FREE catering just to help us practice even more at doing the real thing.

We needed to build up a following and get the word out so getting people to follow us on social media was super important. So important that we wrote this message inside every pizza box.

We managed to get our name out there even more with an article which was another huge step towards growing Slow Rise’s mobile catering business.

AND THEN LOCKDOWN HIT 🛑✋🏼🚫

All upcoming catering events CANCELLED (which would have been our first paid events)

But we didn’t let that stop us. We had the set-up, we had the pizza making knowledge and we had the passion. So to the garden we headed every weekend to make pizza takeaways 🍕🍕🍕

We then introduced the incredible homemade tiramisus that we still have today (this was the first ever prototype!)

Orders were flying in week in week out. This is how our dining room looked every weekend. Ever pre-ordered pizza written out on boxes. It was a military operation!

We would sell out most weekends. We were definitely outgrowing our back garden set-up…

So we got ourselves a premises. Here is the day we got the keys 🔑

The new menu is now into its 3rd week, and it’s been amazing seeing so many of you coming by to try it all out! 🙌🏼🍕

We know some of you were sad to see a few old favourites leave the menu… but hopefully you’ve managed to find some new favourites to take their place! 👀🍕

And if you haven’t been in to try the new menu yet, now’s as good a time as any!

Just make sure to book ahead — since launching the new menu, it’s been even trickier than usual to get your hands on a table! ❤️🍕

The role will include:

🍕 Waiting & table service
🍸 Bartending — including learning how to make our creative cocktails!

Experience in at least one of these areas is required, but we’ll help you learn the rest.
