This is a post that I have been asked to do about the family business, to show that that’s all we are.
We are, at the end of the day, a small family business that has been going for nearly 40 years. The people that have kept it going are the customers and the staff. Our staff over the years up to now have been the best staff any business could ask for. To all of those we just want to say thank you constantly.
Just to let you know, we are doing some renovations to update the bar and restaurant and toilets to make use of the whole building. To hopefully have small functions in and lunch and brunch in the bar and to bring it up to date as much as we can in this hard industry.

I wrote a post about Fully, dad, grandad, great grandad, big chief, last month on his birthday and on the day that Damon’s opened in 1988 and received wonderful comments and posts from people who remembered him from his Asto days and before and since. About him franchising Damon’s from America. Ever since then, the cost of starting a business and of keeping it together and trying to do the best he can. It has been intense to say the least, especially in this day where everything has gone up and trying to keep a business going and people in jobs is more difficult now than it ever has been as I’m sure a lot of you will know and appreciate. And they are still doing it 💪

Well, the old saying used to say “behind every great man is a woman” and this is so very true in this instance.

This is Loraine, his wife, our mum, nanna, great nanna, sorter out, problem solver!!!! She has been the back bone and the fighter alongside dad in many many ways and so many many times. She is very reasonable, always there and very kind and considerate when needed and deserved.
She will literally do anything for anyone if she can. She is still working and helping out where needed. She is also a wonderful family member. Always there for us. All of us. When I had my brain surgery, she was the most amazing human that ever existed. If any of us are struggling, she will be there to help. The grandkids have had a wonderful life because of her. She has done so much for all of them and there are 8 of them!! Then the great grandkids, although she is a bit too old to be looking after them now!!! 🤭

Lal, as we call her, you are amazing and thank you for always being there for us.
I hope you continue to be helping for many many years to come, you wonderful human 🙏🏻❤️

I am going to be posting about some of our staff and to introduce you to them all soon, they deserve recognition also. They do a fantastic job when they can, it’s a hard job to do. Retail in any sense is a hard job to do and we have some amazing people behind us, front and back. Thank you to them all x❤️

This is Charlie!!! She has worked here with us since December 2014 🤩
She’s definitely a huge credit to this company and always has been. Since she started, I have never seen her in a bad mood or where she looks grumpy with customers even if the customers are grumpy with her!!!
To give Charlie some recognition isn’t enough for her day-to-day job at Damon‘s or being a Mum to her children or a fiancé or more recently a face painter in her new little business smile_makers_facepainting.

Charlie goes over the top with effort. Her creativity has no end and she is always wanting to use it to decorate for Halloween or Christmas or as you can see by some of the photos, herself!!!
When I put a competition on last year at Christmas time for the staff to be creative in their outfits, as you can see she really went to town. That is what Charlie does all the time in every job she has.
She’s so busy with all of her jobs yet still finds time to help other others in her private life and her work life.
Charlie, you are a massive credit to us. You are amazing. Thank you for helping us recently with the face painting on the fun bank holiday, all done in your own time.
Thank you for everything you do. We all love you and hope you continue shining like you do.
