We’re absolutely delighted to share that yesterday we were visited by the Environmental Health Officer… and we’re proud to have been awarded a 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating! 🥳🍽️

This means you can enjoy your meal knowing our kitchen meets the highest standards of food hygiene.

A huge thank you to our team for all their hard work over the last couple of weeks. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time. 💚

The Witch & Wardrobe is full of hidden history waiting to be discovered…

One of our favourite features is this 17th-century staircase, uncovered during restoration work in 1979. Even more fascinating, it revealed parts of an earlier 15th-century house, including original timber framing that’s still visible today.

It’s little details like these that make every visit to our pub a step back in time. 🍻🏰

Join us this Saturday from 5:30pm as the fantastic Alexandra James takes to the stage with all your favourite 90s anthems! From sing-along classics to dancefloor hits, it’s the perfect way to spend your Saturday evening.

🍔 Come early and enjoy our food menu before the music starts – our kitchen closes at 5:00pm, so arrive in plenty of time if you’re joining us for something to eat.

👀 Have you spotted these hidden treasures?

One of the things we love about The Witch & Wardrobe is that every time you look up, you notice something new.

Hidden above the bar, beyond the open ceiling, are these two fascinating pieces of history…

🧐 Photo 1 looks like it could be an old copper brewing vessel or large decorative urn.

🧐 Photo 2 appears to be an old piece of machinery with a large hand wheel… but we’re not 100% sure!

So we’re putting it to the experts…

❓Does anyone know exactly what these are, where they came from, or why they’re here?

If you know the story (or even have a good guess!), let us know in the comments. We’d love to uncover more of the history hidden inside this wonderful old building.

What a Week! ❤️🍻

As we come to the end of our very first week at The Witch & Wardrobe, we just wanted to say thank you.

It’s been an incredible week filled with friendly faces, new friendships, returning customers, and so many warm welcomes. We’ve genuinely loved meeting every single one of you, serving you, and hearing your stories. Seeing the pub buzzing with life again has meant the world to us.

What a wonderful way to end our first week than by reading a review like this. 💚

Knowing that families have enjoyed their visit, our food has hit the mark, and that people can already see the potential for what’s to come gives us so much pride. We’re only one week in, and we’re just getting started!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far—whether you’ve popped in for a pint, joined us for lunch, left a review, shared one of our posts, or simply wished us well.

We’re excited to welcome even more new and returning customers over the coming weeks, and we can’t wait to show you everything we have planned for The Witch & Wardrobe.
