This has been a very tough and emotional post to write
Unfortunately last week I was taken ill with something that has been niggling for a few months now but I put it to one side while I carried on working to keep our little family business going
I’ve been forced to take a break and have some tests done which hasn’t been ideal in these uncertain times with the current state of the economy
During the time off we’ve evaluated the whole situation and have decided that for now, 60 hour working weeks (which are essential to keep the business going through the current economic climate) are just too costly to both my health and my (autistic) daughters needs
We are very proud of what we have achieved over the past 3 years which have been a rollercoaster with the many world events. With absolutely no budinesss or social media training we started by making cakeaway treat boxes and afternoon teas in lockdown from our home kitchen, went on to supply four big Lincoln businesses/cafes with our cakes and then opened our bakery & coffee shop last September which has gone on to win 2 amazing awards!
We are so grateful to everyone that has bought our products and to all of our amazing regular customers who we have been lucky enough to have got to know through this venture, you’ve kept us going with your smiles and chats when times were hard
We have loved (almost 🤪) every moment, made lots of memories & friends and learned lots along the way
We’re sorry to say that we will not be opening our doors again and will only be offering bespoke celebration cakes from now on by preorder. We are fully booked until the new year but please get in touch if you wanted to book a cake for February onwards
If anyone is interested in renting our lovely shop, send us a message and I’ll pass the details to the landlord, the kitchen and everything inside are for sale so also let us know if there’s something you would like to buy (including the famous green velvet chairs 😉)

We fully support Colour Friday here at Milk Diamonds. Black Friday sales rob consumers by artificially making things seem like a bargain and rob small business who operate on tiny margins. So today, please take the opportunity to spend wisely on your favourite small business who won’t underpay their staff, have terrible working conditions and mass produced products. You’ll be paying to keep them in business not sending your hard earned pennies into the coffers of an offshore account.

You know the rest… 🤣

Our little Pudsey cake in honour of children in need 🧸
Inside is a vanilla funfetti sponge with raspberry jam and vanilla frosting
We also have some of our other pudsey themed bakes available such as rainbow cookie dough, pudsey brownies and spotty lemon cake. we’ll be sending 25% of the sales proceeds to children in need 😊

Definitely something we do in the Goods household and this year is especially important for small businesses especially.

This year is proving really tough. This should be the busiest time of the year for me and the time of year I most rely on to keep my little business going. I’ve already cut back on what I’ve made for this season as I know everyone is feeling the pinch this year however just a small purchase from one of my markets would make all the difference. I’m having to reassess the future of the business and the direction it takes in 2023. If we don’t support small businesses we lose them. I’m not just at markets, I deliver to your door or your workplace. I have an online shop so placing orders is easy and convenient. I also have a few places that sell my preserves, so you can pop in and support another small business in the process. Please think before you buy. Thanks for listening 🙂

We can’t believe that our little vegan cafe has won the Best Newcomer Award in the whole of Lincolnshire!
Well done to all of the other amazing businesses that made it to the top ten, gold citations, finalist’s and winners, it’s been a heck of a challenging year and you’re all proving how awesome you are ❤️
Thank you to all of our wonderful customers that voted for us and have supported us this last year by repeatedly buying from us, we literally couldn’t be here without you 🥰

Every morning on my Facebook feed is another small business closing down. 😢

It’s so hard watching small businesses going under with the rising costs, so please make sure to support the things you love. You don’t even have to buy, just sharing their posts or telling other people about their business is enough to help.

We’re so grateful that you guys continued to order from us and support our business through lockdown after lockdown and still now when many things are becoming a choice of this or that.

It’s amazing, so honestly, thank you from the bottom on our hearts to every single person who has purchased from us or ordered cakes 🙏

We have a full week this week but have a limited amount of Halloween selection boxes, afternoon teas and cakes left for between Thursday and Monday so get in touch if you’re looking for treats. We have items starting from just £2

We are also offering our kids eat free in half term with adults purchase and our afternoon tea option also includes kids eat free!

We have been busy in the kitchen whipping up this year’s Halloween goodies which include these spooky cookie pie pops in a range of designs

We’re feeling the love for today with this three layer cake
Made up of chocolate cake layer topped with ganache and chocolate frosting underneath a hazelnut cake topped with chocolate hazelnut filling then a white chocolate cake with white and dark chocolate topping. To top it off there’s also wafer bar and nutty balls in each alternating slice
Hands up who’d demolish a slice of this sweet treat
