It feels somewhat surreal that this journey has come to an end but I'm SO excited for my next chapter!

Thank you to everyone single one of you for making Meg's Kitchen as incredible as it has been! I am beyond grateful! 🀍

I have no idea what the future holds for me, apart from spending the beginning of 2023 on the slopes ❄️

I'll still be within the vegan community and the Meg's Kitchen recipe book will be coming in 2023 so I'm not completely vanishing!

Meg's Kitchen will always be the biggest and best decision I've ever made, thank you for being on this ride with me!

No idea what the final MK picture on here will be but I have a week to decide!

It's absolutely madness that in a weeks time Meg's Kitchen will be closed 🀯 time has flown!

I want to give a Meg's Kitchen update:

β€’ The website is live for you to get your Christmas orders! Orders will be limited so please order ASAP to avoid disappointment. All orders will be collection only

β€’ I also have space for any orders before Christmas if you would like to stock up!

β€’ I will be releasing a Meg's Kitchen recipe book in the new year πŸ‘€ if you have any requests of recipes to be in there then please hit me up!

β€’ I've had quite a few people ask if I'll do one of bits next year and I've decided not to. I'd love a fresh start in the new year so that means getting rid of a lot of my equipment

If you or anyone you know is interested in buying anything cake related, business related etc that I have, I'll be posting stories of everything for sale soon!

I'll be keeping my social media once Meg's Kitchen has closed so pleeeease feel free to stay in touch!

❣️IMPORTANT❣️

This is probably going to be a long one so pleeeeassee bare with me!🀍

So firstly, I am absolutely GUTTED (complete understatement, I've gone back and forwards on this decision since Monday) that I'm having to pull out of Heighington Christmas Market on Sunday 😭

I wanted this to be my last event and to really make the most of it and celebrate everything Meg's Kitchen has been but life has other plans!

As I'm sure you all know, I've been selected for Jury service again which I naively assumed would be like it was last time where I wouldn't have to do anything! How wrong was I πŸ˜‚
I have a trial starting tomorrow that is potentially going to go on until Christmas πŸŽ„

Basically I'll have one day to prepare all the stock for Sunday (including buying ingredients, making, decorating, slicing etc) unless I pull several all nighters that just isn't going to happen and I really need to put myself first

I feel like I've let so many people down and I'm so so sorry but this is the risk with being self employed and being a one woman band!

Secondly, if I'm on the jury for this specific trial and it goes on for as long as expected, this may impact Christmas orders! I'll know more tomorrow and I'll keep you all updated!

I want Meg's Kitchen to go out with a bang so I will be trying to figure something out as a final celebration!

Probably not the announcement a lot of you would be expecting!

This is one of the hardest posts to write because I have so much I want to say. Firstly, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH to everyone who has supported Meg's Kitchen over the past 2 years, I have loved getting to know my customers and have made some incredible friends because of this business, I'm truly so grateful! 🀍

Running a business is not something that is easy and I applaud every business owner out there! In the past few months I've gone from looking at premises to open a cafe to realising this isn't the lifestyle I want anymore.

There is SO much that goes on behind the scenes and in all honestly, my mental heath, physical health and relationships have been impacted by Meg's Kitchen in negative ways and I've lost the passion and love I have for cooking and baking

I will be officially closing on 23rd December meaning I will be taking Christmas Preorders soon once my website is finally finished, so make the most of a fresh new website for 2 months πŸ˜‚

I will be updating my diary highlights with my availability between now and Christmas, and information about Christmas pre order once the site is live

If you do want to order before Christmas, please message me to order as I'm locked out of my old website so can't get in to view orders! πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I have a few events before I close and a few ideas for how you might be able to get your Meg's Kitchen fix when I'm gone! πŸ‘€

I know people will ask what I plan to do after this and in true Meg style, I'm winging it, no clue what the future holds for me but that's how this adventure started so I'm excited to see what happens!

How have I not posted on social media for weeks? Oops!

I've been so busy with events, catching up on paperwork and cake orders that it's slipped my mind, being a one man band is not always easy! πŸ˜‚

I'm currently prepping for this weekend at Clumber Park and realising how little fridge space I have πŸ‘€

I will have a huge selection of traybakes, cakes & savouries - obviously all vegan as always

I've definitely lost a little bit of love for what I'm doing. When I opened Meg's Kitchen the world was a very different place and it gave me a new excitement for working

Having the stall was a great way of getting out and meeting people and losing that last year definitely made me feel like I was taking a backwards step

I've found balancing my personal life and business really difficult as I'm constantly in work mode seeing messages and emails even when I'm supposed to be off

The constant increase in prices means some of the items I offer will no longer be available as I'm literally not covering ingredient costs

I'm trying to figure out what the future holds for myself and Meg's Kitchen

There are new things on the horizon, I just need a mental reset to be able to tackle my ridiculously long to do list and decide what I want out of my business while making sure you're all getting what you want

As I've said, August is a quiet month for me, I have a busy week next week and early the following week but towards the end of the month I have availability

I will post my events and full availability soon once I've had a few hours of vitamin D to lift my spirits!
