The Forbidden Corner is a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises created in a four acre garden in the heart of Tupgill Park and the Yorkshire Dales. The temple of the underworld, the eye of the needle, a huge pyramid made of translucent glass, paths and passages that lead nowhere, extraordinary statues - at every turn there are decisions to make and tricks to avoid. This is a day out with a difference which will challenge and delight adults and children of all ages.

Hidden deep within The Forbidden Corner lies a pyramid of shimmering glass. Legend says it wasn't built, but grown a shard of frozen moonlight. 🌙💠

If you visit on a sunny day, listen closely, the prisms don't just catch the light; they release faint, tinkling whispers. Catch a dancing mote of refracted sunlight, and you might just uncover a bit of garden magic. ✨

Throwback to last winter! ❄️

Stumbled across this picture of the garden water feature completely frozen over. There’s something beautifully poetic about these statues frozen in time, with their pouring jugs creating a dramatic cascade of solid icicles against the stone instead of a gentle, flowing stream.

Nature really does create the most striking, unexpected sculptures. 🧊

William Waggles 🃏Our jester!

He is one of the many characters you can meet at our Wizards Weekend 27th and 28th of June.
During the event you collect 5 stamps before finding the Grand Wizard in St Cutherberts for a reward, but be warned.... Waggles can be mischevious and likes to run around and hide.
The other characters to find and meet include, the Knight, the Maiden, the Merchant and the Dragon Trainer (along with one of her baby dragons).

No additional cost to the normal entry!
Dressing up is not essential but encouraged as we love to see other young heroes in their adventuring gear!

What an incredible half term it has been! ✨
