Because a café is never really about the tables, the chairs, or even the coffee. It’s about the people who walk through our doors, the familiar faces, the little conversations, the laughs, the catch-ups, and all the moments shared over a cup of coffee.

⚓️🌧️ They say Shetland gives you four seasons in one day… today it definitely gave our cruise visitors a proper Shetland welcome! 🌦️

With MSC Preziosa in port and thousands of visitors exploring our beautiful town, Lerwick was full of life. Despite the rain, the streets were buzzing, the smiles never disappeared, and we had the pleasure of welcoming so many lovely people from all over the world. 🌍🤍

Inside Coffee Culture, it was one of those days… coffees flowing nonstop ☕, breakfast rolls, toasties, paninis, soups and lunches flying out of the kitchen 🍽️, cakes disappearing from the cabinet faster than we could admire them 🍰😂.

Somehow, the front of house kept smiling, the chef kept the food coming, every order found the right customer, nobody was left waiting forever, nothing went missing, and we all made it to the end of the day still laughing. We’d call that a success! 😅👏

To everyone who stopped by—whether it was for a quick coffee, a slice of cake, a warm meal or just a break from the Shetland weather—thank you. You made a busy day feel like a brilliant one.

Safe travels to everyone continuing their journey, and we hope you leave Shetland with wonderful memories… and maybe just a craving to come back for another coffee and another slice of cake. ❤️

☕ Coffee Confusion? Let’s Clear It Up…

Coffee is coffee… right? 👀
Well… not quite. There are different ways that little coffee bean becomes your daily cup of happiness ☕✨

☕ Instant Coffee
The quick and easy option — coffee powder mixed with hot water (or milk).
Perfect for those “I need coffee before I can function” mornings 😂

At CCL, instant coffee is available on request.
And before anyone asks… no, we don’t currently do whisk coffee — but who knows, it might make an appearance one day. 👀☕

☕ Filter Coffee
A brewing method where hot water passes through ground coffee and a filter, creating a lighter and smoother cup.
Great for slow coffee moments… but this one isn’t served at CCL. ❌

☕ Brewed Coffee / Drip Coffee
Ground coffee is brewed with hot water to bring out the natural flavours. A popular choice for coffee lovers who enjoy a clean, balanced taste.

☕ Espresso-Based Coffee (What we serve at CCL & our other branches ☕❤️)
This is where our coffee journey begins.

Our espresso machines create the base for your favourites:

🤎 Espresso – a rich, concentrated shot
🤎 Americano – espresso topped with hot water
🤎 Cappuccino – espresso with steamed milk and foam
🤎 Latte – espresso with smooth, steamed milk
🤎 Mocha – espresso, chocolate and milk (because sometimes coffee needs a little extra happiness 😉)

So when you grab your coffee from CCL, you know exactly what’s in your cup — no instant, no filter, no whisk (for now 😂)… just freshly prepared espresso-based coffee made by our machines.

The lady came in looking for us and returned the card machine — it was all just a misunderstanding.

We are now deleting the previous post. Thank you once again everyone for your help and kindness. 🙏

Today’s photo dump… ☕📸

One coffee after another, plenty of smiles, and a camera roll that somehow ended up fuller than we expected. ☕📷

Our Salted Caramel Cake was quietly doing what it does best… catching everyone’s attention without even trying. 🍰✨

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins also made an appearance today, looking far too good to leave the cabinet untouched. 🧁🤍

And then there’s the last photo… our little goodbye to today’s cruise ship as it disappeared behind the buildings. 🚢👋 We couldn’t let it leave without sneaking in one last picture.

It’s funny how the best photos are never the ones you actually plan to take. They’re the random coffee moments, the cake that catches your eye for no reason, and the “wait… I need a picture of this!” moments that happen in between.

The last few days have definitely tested us! 😭

Being short-staffed was hard enough, then our Wi-Fi decided to give up on us too! Safe to say the last 2–3 days have been a challenge, but somehow we survived and kept going. 💪☕️

Today we’re excited to welcome another beautiful cruise ship to Lerwick! 🚢

We’re still a little short on staff this week, so if things take a little longer than usual, we’d really appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re giving it our all to make every visit a great one.

We’ve also got a new variety of cakes and bakes! 🍰 Have you tried them yet?

This week’s special is our Carrot & Pistachio Cake, and it’s been selling out fast! If you’ve been thinking about trying a slice, don’t leave it too late. 😉

🤎 A Little Farewell to Emma 🤎

Tomorrow is Emma’s last day with us at Coffee Culture Lerwick after an incredible 3½ years as part of our team.

Emma has been a friendly face behind the counter, always welcoming customers with a smile, working hard, and bringing kindness and positivity to every shift. She has been a valued member of our Coffee Culture family, and we’re so grateful for everything she’s has done over the years.

As Emma begins an exciting new adventure in Australia, we want to wish her all the happiness and success in the future. We’re going to miss you, Emma, but we know you’ll do amazing things. Thank you for everything, and good luck on your next chapter! 🇦🇺❤️

Because we’ll be a little short-staffed while we adjust, our opening hours this week will be:
