A Bit of Stitching (Jo Griffiths) Exhibition 2026
We are delighted to announce that Jo Griffiths will be joining us throughout the month of October, showcasing their incredible Stitching Work.
Jo studied Art and Design at Hereford Art College before completing a degree in Fashion and Knitwear at Nottingham Trent University. She went on to achieve her PGCE in Textiles Technology at Bretton Hall, beginning a 30-year career teaching Textiles and Art in secondary schools across Derbyshire and Worcestershire.
Jo’s textile practice was initially inspired by the Japanese traditions of Boro and Sashiko, particularly the meditative and repetitive nature of working with a simple running stitch. Over time, her practice has evolved to incorporate a wider range of traditional textile techniques, including appliqué, Mola work and patchwork.
Her work celebrates the tactile qualities of fabric, thread and stitch, combining traditional techniques with her own contemporary approach. She enjoys the process of transforming simple materials, often recycled and vintage, into pieces that are both decorative and practical.
At her exhibition at Grange Court, Jo will be showcasing a selection of framed textile artwork, stitch pots, fabric bags and pouches, alongside a range of greeting cards.
