Flash back to the 7th of January 2025 when I infamously emptied the Spinners Mill thanks to a trapped teacake. The ladies of the mill, and my guests from flourish together and the lovely Nikala enjoyed the visit from the local fire brigade too. Lovely memories with great people!

Five years ago, I designed the dress of knitted poppies from a blog I wrote on my website. Women replied, they donated the knitted poppies as we supported the Salford Veterans Breakfast Club, held at Pendleton Church in Salford.
The dress was designed to commemorate Armed Forces Day and honour the women of our community who served with dignity and style when they were needed most.
Today, it is proudly displayed in the window of Leighs Leigh's Tearoom and Community Hub alongside its junior counterpart, both adorned with poppies.Soon, they will move to another new home at 97 Bradshawgate as the Verve Community CIC embarks on its own journey.
Verve Community CIC will offer a pop up facility dedicated to supporting the NHS, Macmillan, mental health charities, and many other local groups and VCSE's to use the space and showcase the services they provide to help the community of Leigh.
It also houses my Independent Foster Care Recruitment and it's digital hub, in partnership with the esteemed David Crack, CDD Services Ltd with Spotlite technology, and Jim Moores, CEO of Charms Technology.
We are committed to advancing the use of digital technology to safeguard data ensuring that data sovereignty remains with the individual. It,s an exciting journey and one that I love.
It's also fitting that Leigh leads the way, from the High Street because we have a community who cares because of lived experiences.

Today we celebrate the first birthday of Leigh's Tearoom and Community Hub . Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the last year, especially our ladies who knit, dine, help, are there for each other and the wonderful men who likewise support what we do with cake. A special thank you to HSP for their kindness in bringing the donations from the Modern Milkman UK . Today is special so please call in, have cake and a brew and here's to many more special days when our community gets together and gets things done. Finally, to those who we lost; we remember you. Your support made a huge difference, you are missed. Rest in Peace X

Todays specials include homemade leek, potato and spring green soup and beef chilli jacket potatoes drizzled with cheese and side salad plus our usual menu including panini's and quiches. Of course, we have cake too including orange drizzle, chocolate and Victoria sponge cakes plus scones! All homemade, so if you're passing, call in. The kettles on....
