⚽️👏 What a World Cup it’s been! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

What an incredible journey. While England may not have reached the final, they have given us so many unforgettable moments to cheer about. A huge congratulations to the team on finishing 3rd in the world – that is an achievement to be incredibly proud of! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️

Here at The Linford, we’ve loved every minute of sharing the excitement with all of you. The atmosphere has been amazing, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us to support England throughout the tournament. Your passion, singing, cheering and unwavering support made every match one to remember.

The football may be over, but the sporting action certainly isn’t! Our attention continues with England Rugby, following a fantastic victory over Argentina last night. 🏉🔥

We’ll be backing England once again when the Autumn Nations Series kicks off, with the first home fixture on Sunday 8th November. Keep your eyes peeled for all the details of our match-day events, delicious food and the unbeatable atmosphere here at The Linford.

🚨 Meet our newest team member… SPARKY! ⚡❤️

We’re delighted to introduce the latest addition to Team Linford… Sparky the Bouncer! 💪😄

Don’t worry, he won’t be checking membership cards or asking who’s had one too many… but he is always on duty, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated and supported our fundraising, The Linford is now home to a life-saving defibrillator. While we all hope Sparky never has to clock in for action, it’s reassuring to know he’s there if he’s ever needed.

You’ll find Sparky proudly standing guard on the side of the club by the car park entrance. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. It’s another great example of what our wonderful Linford community can achieve when we pull together.

Let’s hope Sparky has the quietest shift of his career… but it’s comforting to know he’s always on call. ⚡🏡❤️

Congratulations on a cracking win! We have to admit… we didn’t quite make it to the final whistle. It was a little past our bedtime! 😴🍺

❤️ What a weekend… and what a community! ❤️

As The Linford celebrated its 100th Birthday, we were reminded just how lucky we are to be part of such an incredible village.

Seeing so many familiar faces, families, friends and neighbours come together to celebrate, laugh, sing and make memories was truly special. Weekends like this remind us that The Linford is so much more than just a building—it’s the heart of our community.

A huge congratulations and thank you to our wonderful Brownies, who gave a truly fantastic performance on Saturday. Their enthusiasm, confidence and beautiful singing brought smiles to so many faces, and we were so proud to have them as part of our celebrations. Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer them on—you made the occasion even more special.

We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our committee members and volunteers. So much hard work goes on behind the scenes to organise an event like this, and without your time, dedication and teamwork, none of it would have been possible. You should all be incredibly proud. ❤️

A very special thank you goes to Hilary (Brown Owl). This was sadly her final performance with the Brownies before she retires in July, making it an emotional and memorable moment for us all.

Hilary, thank you for your years of dedication, patience and kindness. You have inspired and supported generations of young people in our village, and your legacy will live on through the countless lives you’ve touched. We were truly honoured that your final performance formed part of our centenary celebrations.

To everyone who came along over the weekend—thank you. Thank you for celebrating with us, for supporting your local community and for helping create memories that we’ll treasure for years to come.

Here’s to the friendships we’ve made, the memories we’ve shared, and to the next 100 years of The Linford. ❤️🍻🎉
