Another brilliant weekend at The Donkey! 🫏🎶❤️

Three days of great music, singing, dancing and an atmosphere that reminded us exactly what this pub is all about.

🎸 Friday - David Wainwright
David brought us a wonderfully wholesome evening of country and acoustic music, with everyone singing along to some brilliant hits alongside some great original songs. The kind of night that puts a smile on everyone’s face!

🐯🦊 Friday & Saturday - Matchday Madness and weekend of two very different fortunes! The Tigers celebrated a great win with royal approval 👑, while the Foxes enjoyed pre-match drinks before losing out to a ‘Savage’ old friend! ⚽ Win or lose, the pints and matchday atmosphere were brilliant. 🍻

☘️ Sunday Sessions - The Scallions
Wow! The pub filled up in no time, Murphy’s was flying off the bar, and The Scallions brought the house to life with their brilliant Irish music. There was even some Irish dancing going on! 💃🍻
A special shout-out from the team to their cover of ‘How Will I Love You’ - a real standout moment of the weekend. We think it’s safe to say we’ll have to get these guys back again!

Life is well and truly back at The Donkey. 🫏❤️

WHAT A WEEKEND LAST WEEKEND WAS! 🫏❤️ AND WE’RE READY TO DO IT ALL AGAIN! 🎶

Our opening weekend was buzzing with the kind of atmosphere and community spirit we dreamed of bringing back to The Donkey! ❤️

One of the most special moments was hearing such a glowing endorsement from Warren and Zoe, the former owners and true local legends who have played such an important part in The Donkey’s story. That really meant the world to us. 🫶

🎸 HERE’S WHAT’S ON THIS WEEKEND!

🤠 Friday Night / Tonight!: Country music solo artist David Wainwright takes to the stage!
🕖 Free entry from 7pm!

☘️ Sunday Session #2: We welcome the brilliant Shamrock Soul group The Scallions for another afternoon of live music, good vibes and community spirit!
🎶 Free entry again!

We know Leicester already has an incredible music and creative community, that’s exactly why we’ve brought The Donkey back! We want to work alongside our friends, partners, musicians, artists, performers, promoters, organisations and fellow venue owners to create opportunities, champion local talent and help build a stronger, more connected music scene for the greater good of Leicester. 🙌

WELCOME BACK TO THE DONKEY! 🫏🎶❤️

Tag your mates, spread the word and we’ll see you at the weekend! 🍻
