Showing off our Aberdeen Angus sirloin! Topped with our house butter and served with roasted Tenderstem broccoli, a mushroom stuffed with caramelised onions, confit tomato, and our home-cut chips. 🥩

Our Aberdeen Angus sirloin comes straight from Joe’s farm in Nottinghamshire — Joe just happens to be boss Will’s brother!

Working alongside GRASSROOTS FARMING , Joe and his team are committed to sustainable farming practices that benefit both the cattle and the natural environment.

Join us for the Bank Holiday weekend with live music from Nathan Peake on Friday night and Evie Moss on Sunday night! Both Nathan and Evie are some of our favourite artists to perform at the Trout and we have no doubt they’ll bring a great crowd and amazing energy as well as their incredible vocals and musical skills!

After months of hard work, our new front porch is finally complete! 🎉

A huge thank you to all the incredible tradespeople who helped bring our design to life. From Matt and the team at Meerbrook Construction Services for their tireless work building and fitting, John Edgar for their incredible craftsmanship, D&B Upholstery for fitting our comfy cushioned seats, Josh for etching the amazing Trout and Horseshoes design into the windows, Darren at AD Profile Creative for his fantastic designs — and that’s just to name a few!

As well as keeping the draught out during those cold winter months, our new porch celebrates and pays tribute to everything that makes our area so special. The stained glass colours were inspired by the stunning sunsets over the Roaches, while the etched Trout and Horseshoes design reflects our history as a village pub and the trout fished in Tittesworth reservoir!

Suns out, buns out with our new Drunk Pig burger! 🥃🐷
100% Beef patty topped with hog roast style pulled pork in our ‘Rum and Coke’ BBQ sauce, with smoked streaky bacon and Monetary Jack cheese. We slow-cook our pulled pork in dark rum and Coca-Cola, then top with even more of our “Rum and Coke” BBQ sauce!

Just a reminder that the kitchen opens at 12pm today rather than the usual 9:30am for breakfast. We are still open for coffees and drinks as usual and will be back to normal tomorrow morning! ☕️

A huge congratulations to our chef Luke and his lovely fiancée Jess, who are tying the knot this Saturday! 💍❤️

Luke has been a valued member of the team for the past 9 years, progressing from kitchen trainee to sous chef, working alongside his best friend- and now best man Adam every step of the way.

It has been wonderful to watch Luke and Jess’s love story unfold over the years, and we couldn’t be happier for them as they begin this exciting new chapter together.

From everyone at the Trout, we wish Luke and Jess a lifetime of love, happiness, and unforgettable memories. Congratulations and enjoy your special day! 🥂✨

As a result of these celebrations, the chef team are taking the night (and Sunday morning) off to celebrate and leaving you in the capable hands of The Travelling Taverna (there may be a few tables left early doors so message Connie for more info). Our bar will be open as usual so feel free to pop down for a pint in the sun.

Sunday
9:30am- 12pm for drinks only
12pm- onwards for Sunday service

While our own kitchen team are at Chef Luke’s wedding, we are proud to welcome the Travelling Taverna who are hosting a kitchen takeover event!

Don’t worry, our bar will be run by us (as normal) and open to all including those not attending the food event. We are also open as usual for food over lunchtime on this day.

As the food event is being run by Connie and his team at the Travelling Taverna, bookings must be made directly with Connie. Full payment will be required at the time of booking to secure your place.
