This month’s Scabetti Newsletter features ‘Body of Knowledge’ installed at the prestigious Brighton College, en route to the library.
The figures, sculpted by Dominic and Frances Bromley are from their Ascension Collection. Each is made from the beautifully translucent, English fine bone china.
This art piece has the added dimension of a larger figure created from the density of ceramics, with light emitting from its core.

This pool house renovation by Emma Kayne is such a natural home for this custom made Shoal sculpture. “…the crowning piece is the beautiful light above the island by Scabetti: Art & Design Studio which is simply spectacular.” Emma.

Body of Knowledge, Brighton College
Brighton, England, UK
English fine bone china

Body of Knowledge is suspended in the centre of the Gilbert Scott staircase at the entrance to the library, in Brighton College, England. Sculpted and created by Dominic and Frances Bromley, the piece measures 1m diameter and 6m tall. The human forms, each 23cm tall, come together as a group to form a larger body with a light at its centre: A body of knowledge… the sum of the wealth of education and enlightenment offered by the College.
