All the bits and pieces left over from yesterdays cake. When I make the fondant items for a cake, I always make too many 🫣 but until I start adding them to the cake, I’m not 100% sure which ones I’ll use. Always better to have too many than not enough though 😉

I have had the pleasure to meet Gill at her home for a design consultation for her cake. Gill had put a lot of effort into some design ideas, including some sketches, photographs & website links for information.
A life to be celebrated with some of her favourite things held dear to her, including family, archeology and her bone collection, playing the Lute and some of her favourite mountains and landscapes which wrap around the cake.
This 8” 3 layered vanilla cake has a rustic theme incorporating all the things she wanted to celebrate. All items are edible and hand made, making the cake personal and bespoke. I also got to deliver the cake to our local pub The Red Lion where Gill was celebrating her birthday. To see Gill and her family’s reaction was truly lovely. I hope you enjoy your celebrations 🥰

These were the cupcakes ready for the edible 80th toppers. Vanilla cupcakes with a jam centre, topped with silky smooth buttercream swirl 🤩
They were actually frozen like this, ready for the customer to collect whilst I was on holiday. Remember the trial run of frozen cupcakes?
Well they loved them and said you could never tell they had been frozen 🤩
