Built over 400 years ago, originally called The Leopard, The Thornhill still retains some of the original built features, including a stone entrance dating back to 1673 inscribed with W.C. Using fresh local produce, The Thornhill offers delicious pub food, served to a very high standard, our menu ranges from snacks, lunch options, traditional pub classics & a some great à la carte options. It has

been said that there are secret tunnels running from the pub down to Kirkstall Abbey built many years ago by the monks. There are some sealed off areas of the cellars that have not been opened for many years - adding some mystery to the building and helping to create its unique atmosphere!

Why is Monday always so depressing?! 😂

We’re currently trying to find time somewhere between working shifts, washing school uniforms, after-school clubs, admin and everything else that seems to appear on a Monday… to write you an exciting new autumn menu. 🍂

And yes, we’re thinking comfort food. Gravy. And lots of it. 🤤

There’ll be plenty of seasonal favourites coming your way, so keep an eye out for updates this week.

In the meantime, we’re still here doing what we do every day — serving food, pouring cold beers and hopefully making Mondays feel a little less miserable.

So if you need a pick-me-up as much as I do today, come down and let us sort you out. ❤️

P.S. Yes, I know my desk is a mess… it’s currently doing a very accurate impression of my brain. 😂

It’s Sunday folks! Which can only mean one thing!……

A delicious Roast dinner at the Thornhill!

And let’s just take a minute to say….. that I know I’m Bias but nothing beats Thornhill gravy!!! Prober gravy is what it’s all about for me 🤤😋

Yet again another incredible night at our folk club!

I’m so proud of what’s happening with this club. Some amazing performances last night and to get so many coming together and joining in it’s really special ❤️.

I’d wanted to start a folk club for years and with the help of the legend that is Duncan McFarlane we’ve turned the dream into reality.

Thanks so much again to everyone that came!

THE KIDS ARE BACK AT SCHOOL… NOW IT’S THE ADULTS’ TURN TO PLAY! 😂🎉

We’ve survived the six weeks. The days out, the endless snacks, the late nights, the constant “what are we doing today?”…

So we think the grown-ups deserve a night out. 🙌

On Saturday 3rd October, we’re taking The Thornhill BACK TO THE 90s with Funky Licious bringing us the anthems all night long. 🎶

Think big 90s dance tunes, R&B, Britpop, club classics and those songs you haven’t heard for years but somehow still know every single word to. 😂

ONE LAST BANK HOLIDAY BEFORE REALITY HITS… 😂☀️🍻

How on earth are we at the final weekend of the summer holidays already?!

It feels like five minutes ago we were wondering how we were going to fill six whole weeks… and now we’re staring down the barrel of school uniforms, packed lunches, alarm clocks and actually knowing what day of the week it is again. 😂

So before normality officially resumes, we think this Bank Holiday weekend deserves one last bit of summer fun.

No cooking. No washing up. Grab the kids, round up some friends, have a drink, eat something nice and enjoy the last long weekend before September properly begins. ❤️
