The loveliest compliment we can receive is seeing the same families walk back through our doors 💛

For some, it’s the calm atmosphere. For others, it’s the friendly team, the café, the imaginative play or simply finding somewhere their child genuinely asks to return to.

Children rarely play in exactly the same way twice. One visit might revolve around caring for animals, another around running the café, and another might become one enormous story stretching across the whole village.

That’s part of what makes role play so special - the space may be familiar, but their imagination keeps changing the experience.

If you’ve never visited The Hidden Village before, here’s a little look at what’s waiting inside 🌿

Our child-sized role-play village is filled with spaces designed for children to explore, imagine and create their own stories.

They can care for animals in the vets, serve food in the café, visit the shops, respond to an emergency, build, post letters and decide for themselves where the adventure goes next.

There’s no set route and no pressure to rush. Children can move between the different areas at their own pace, return to favourites and become properly absorbed in their play.

We also keep numbers limited, helping the village feel calmer and giving everyone more room to explore.

Now the school holidays are over, this is one of our favourite times of year at The Hidden Village 🌿

Weekdays bring a slightly slower pace, making them perfect for little ones who enjoy having time and space to explore.

Our weekday sessions are perfect for children aged 0–5, and we continue to keep numbers limited so the village never feels packed.

Children can move between our role-play areas at their own pace, while grown-ups join in or settle down nearby with a proper coffee.

And if you have older children, they haven’t been forgotten — our weekend sessions continue to welcome children up to age 10.

Play is doing far more than keeping them busy 🌿

When children serve a customer, care for an animal, answer the phone or decide what happens next in their game, they’re practising skills they’ll use every day.

Role play can support communication, confidence, imagination, problem-solving and understanding of the world around them - all without it ever feeling like “learning”.

At The Hidden Village, children have a whole little village to explore at their own pace, with real-life settings and props to help their ideas come to life.

Our weekday sessions are especially for children aged 0–5, we also keep numbers extremely limited, giving children more room to settle into their play rather than feeling rushed or crowded.

Sometimes the most valuable learning happens when they’re simply allowed to play 💛

The Hidden Village has never been about simply filling a room with toys.

It was created by a family, shaped by real parenting experiences and built around what children and their grown-ups genuinely need.

Every part of the experience has a purpose:

🌿 role-play areas that encourage children to imagine, communicate and learn
🌿 carefully limited session numbers to protect the atmosphere
🌿 a welcoming team who understand that every family is different
🌿 food, drinks and seating designed with grown-ups in mind too
🌿 a clean, comfortable space where families can make memories together

Being a parent can be wonderful, exhausting and sometimes incredibly lonely. We wanted to create somewhere that gives children a brilliant experience while helping their grown-ups feel welcomed, supported and able to switch off for a little while.

A post office, police station, vets, café, shop, construction zone and so many stories still waiting to be invented 🌿

One minute they are treating an injured animal. The next, they are serving lunch, solving a mystery or collecting vegetables from the garden.

That is the magic of The Hidden Village: children are given the setting and the props, but they decide what happens next.

Our role-play village welcomes children up to age 10 in standard sessions, with selected 0–5 sessions offering a younger environment for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

As the summer holidays begin to wind down, there is still time to fit in one more little adventure. Spaces remain limited in every session, so booking ahead is recommended.

Sometimes the best family days out are the ones that feel easy from the moment you arrive.

A friendly face at check-in. A space that does not feel overcrowded. Somewhere your child can settle into their play while you remain comfortably close by.

We deliberately limit the number of families in every session because the atmosphere matters to us. It gives children more room to explore and helps grown-ups enjoy the visit without feeling surrounded by the usual school-holiday rush.

Our fully air-conditioned venue offers standard sessions for children up to age 10, as well as selected 0–5 sessions for younger visitors who may feel more comfortable alongside children closer to their own age.
