Today marks 6 months since we opened the doors to You Me & Umami.

What started as an idea, a lot of hard work, and more than a few sleepless nights has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of.

To everyone who has dined with us, celebrated with us, recommended us to friends, left a review, or simply supported us along the way – thank you. Every visit, every kind word, and every familiar face has helped make You Me & Umami what it is today.

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to the first 6 months, and many more to come. ❤️

CIREN-SIP SHOWDOWN: PUBS PUT THEIR BEST GLASS FORWARD
Cirencester’s annual Summer Cocktail Competition will take place at Téatro Restaurant and Bar on Wednesday 13 May.

The event, that coincides with World Cocktail Day, will see Téatro Restaurant and Bar’s very own, Arran Fowler, go up against, Cirencester’s, Henry’s Seafood Bar & Grill mixologist, Tom Holland, and Samuel Abbott from Lechlade’s Pan-Asian restaurant – You, Me and Umami.

The comp will be judged by the new manager of Téatro’s neighbour, Arkell’s Brewery’s The Talbot Inn, which will be renamed and reopen at the end of this month.

Last year six of the finest cocktail kings and queens took part in anonymous competition battle of one cocktail and one mocktail, the format remains the same. The judging panel have no idea who’s was drinks was from which establishment and then choose an overall winner.

“World Cocktail Day is a global celebration of cocktails; it marks the publication date of the first definition of a cocktail on May 13 in 1806, Téatro’s Arran said. “Drinks and mixing has changed a lot, even in the last ten years. I have never actually competed before so am looking forward to going against some cool new people, Foyez, now of You, Me and Umami, always has cool drinks, so I know Samuel’s is going to be epic.”

Neil Robson is the manager of The Talbot and has worked all over the world. He said of his judging involvement: “It is a pleasure to meet some more people from the industry and be invited into something that has become somewhat of a tradition.

“When we open, (Talbot) we will be a pub, so cocktails will not be our thing, so it is great for me to try what the town has to offer, away from the office.”
