Yesterday we had a special day, as some of our Ellines sto Leamington Spa - Greeks in Leamington Spa turned up for a meet, where they made merry with a glass of Greek wine and a bite of our humble Greek foodstuffs.

We hope you enjoyed yourselves, that you enjoyed our simple hospitality and that we will see you again soon!

So another year has come to its end... and the end of our 1st year (well a couple of months of it 😋) at TheGreek Standing!

I started this post to wish you all a Happy New Year, blah, blah... and it felt somewhat 'generic'. So here goes my "long version"!

I am Harry (aka "the Greek" as I was first nicknamed many years back in my first job at Jaguar...) and TheGreek Standing is of my making. An old dream now 'alive', a place physically built mostly by my own hands, a place I once dreamt of to allow me to see happy faces eating authentic Greek foods, drinking and being merry, always welcoming all walking into a place reminiscing of my home country, Greece...

And while I am sorry to say I cannot bring along Greece's sunshine and clear blue waters for when you visit, you can at least sit, relax and enjoy views of Greece out of our "blue shuttered windows"... 😊

And so to all that have visited us already and enjoyed our flavoursome offerings, to all those who are yet to visit us and to all who have simply bothered to read my ramblings so far, I wish you this:

I wish you all a very Happy New Year. I wish that it comes and finds you in lasting good health, around people you care for and care for you, with many, many opportunities to make good, happy memories...

Life often takes over, we get lost in working for money, bills, to get a better car, a bigger house... yet in the end what really matters is good health, to allow making happy memories. For us to carry in our hearts and to also place in the hearts of those we care for. As a proud big 'C' survivor I know this much to be true...
