Once again the most direct and easy way to our business has been blocked again by an HGV here at Altarnun, the road behind the church is now impassable. The most annoying thing is that the driver was told by a local resident that he would not be able to continue on this road, but the driver saw the sign and said that HE would be able to make it πŸ€”, enough said!!!! So I am sorry but the alternative route is carry on up the hill, go through the crossroads to T-junction, turn left come in past the rising sun inn and take 2nd back towards village and hopefully you don't meet the driver reversing all the way back 🀬 xx

The Caretaker's poetry corner here at The Tea Garden.

Tiny Neighbours.

At the bottom of the field
In the stinging nettle patch
There is a little house
A roof made out of thatch.

The only way you know
It is even there
Late in the evening
Smoke rises through the air.

He's lit his little fire
To keep it nice and warm
With little tiny logs
He stacks on his lawn.

He's always very busy
He never seems to stop
Sometimes you see him sitting
Upon a mushroom top.

He is very friendly
But he likes to be alone
It's nice this little elf
Has made this place his home.

The Caretaker's poetry can be read here at the Tea Garden, whilst Sitting back and enjoying the hospitality of our unique little place.

Friday the 24th July, The West Kernick Tea Garden honoured a request to celebrate the life of the lovely Gwendoline Sandra Naylor.
The church service was beautiful and what a wonderful turn out to pay tribute to this lovely lady of our parish.
We were asked to help provide a spread fitting to the memory of lovely Gwen, so sitting down with the family we came up with some fitting delights.
Kevin and myself would like to thank Helen for trusting us, for Sharon making the most amazing hedgehogs, and being such a support to us, thankyou, Jane and the very hard working Lydia for sorting out all the refreshments, JoJo and Brian being an excellent washing up duo, and not forgetting little Frya for writing a job list for Nanny Jane to uncover all the food and get the kettles ready for our return from Church, without these amazing people it would not have been possible.
We would like to thank all involved for helping us make this such a special day to celebrate this very special Lady.
RIP, Fly High lovely Lady, Gwen ###
