⚠️ A wee update from Wheelers Diner

Due to an unexpected issue with our kitchen extraction system, we’ll be operating a limited menu from today until Tuesday while we get the necessary work carried out.

We’re still open, the kitchen is still serving, and there’s still plenty to choose from — we just won’t be able to offer our full menu for the next few days.

We know it’s not ideal and we’re sorry for any disappointment if your usual favourite isn’t available. Unfortunately, it’s one of those things that needs to be sorted properly rather than worked around.

Everything should be back to normal from Tuesday. 🤞

Thanks for bearing with us, and a big thank you to the team for adapting and keeping things moving in the meantime.

👨‍🍳 COOK UP SOMETHING NEW AT ROUTE 74.

We’re growing our team at Route 74 Truckstop, and we’re looking for a Chef / Line Cook to join our kitchen.

This isn’t fine dining. There are no tweezers, tiny portions or parsley strategically placed in the corner of a plate. 😂

We do proper food, proper portions and plenty of it.

From big breakfasts and burgers to the dishes that keep drivers, locals and travellers coming back through our doors, our kitchen can get seriously busy — and that’s exactly why we need another great person behind the line.

We’re looking for someone who can cook, keep their head when the tickets start flying, have a laugh with the team and take pride in sending out food they’d happily pay for themselves.

Experience in a busy kitchen is a big plus, but attitude matters here. Turn up, muck in, care about what you’re serving and look after the people working beside you.

In return, you’ll be joining a friendly team, working somewhere that’s definitely a little different from your average kitchen — with the opportunity to develop, grow and make your mark at Route 74.

Think you’d fit in?

🍳🥓 NEW BREAKFAST MENU! 🥞🧇

After today’s official staff cook-off (it’s a tough job, but someone had to do it 👀), our brand-new breakfast menu has been given the thumbs up and is ready to go!

Launching Monday 7th September at Wheeler’s Diner.

We’ve given breakfast a proper refresh — new dishes, improved favourites and LOWER prices, while sticking with the same quality suppliers and ingredients.

🥓 Our new & improved Full Scottish and Full English Breakfasts — proper portions and everything you’d expect from a cracking cooked breakfast.

🥞 American-style Pancake Stack with bacon, eggs and plenty of that all-important maple syrup.

🧇 Belgian-style Waffles — choose from bacon & eggs or Fruits of the Forest for something a little sweeter.

☕ And obviously, no breakfast is complete without a proper coffee!

The best bit?

Same quality. Same suppliers. Same proper portions.

NEW choices. LOWER prices. 🙌

The staff have eaten their way through the new menu today in the name of quality control… purely professional, obviously. 😂

📅 Available from Monday 7th September
