As of today, we have made the difficult decision to close the doors of our café for good.
After a full year of trading, the continued rise in food costs, wages, and other overhead costs, has made it impossible for us to continue operating as a viable business. Despite our best efforts, and the support of many loyal customers, we have reached a point where we can no longer keep the café open.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our regulars and everyone who chose to support us over the past year. Your kindness, loyalty and encouragement have meant so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful.
It is particularly disappointing to know that, despite so much talk about supporting local businesses, many local people chose not to support us. Independent businesses can only survive when communities actively use them, and sadly that support simply wasn’t there in sufficient numbers.
While the café is closed, the pub remains open, for now. We would urge everyone who values having local businesses in the community to support them whenever they can. Without that support, it could be the next business facing closure.
Thank you again to everyone who has been part of our journey over the last year. We will miss seeing you all, and we will always appreciate those who stood by us and supported us from day one.
