Good morning Douglas!

Well you wait years for a relative to post with the Douglas Bakery bag on holiday and then two come along in a single week.

This week we have my little sister Kirstie Stirrat modelling the sought after bag and showing a great set of pins I have to say 😁 certainly looking better than M’Uncle Tom but then he hasn’t finished taking pics yet šŸ¤ž

Thanks to Keith for taking the picture (ahem šŸ˜‰)

Who will be next to model the bag? It could be you, just pick one up at the bakery and do your thing.

Thanks, Kirst. Love from your big brother x

Good morning Douglas!

Well this has to be one of the top ten trips for The Douglas Bakery Bag…

From the front door of the bakery around the NC500 then on to Murrayfield for an international match before heading into Europe and to the heart of the great city that is Berlin and to the iconic Brandenburg Gate.

This epic journey was brought to you by Doc T and Bianca in their beautiful blue Abarth.

I have to give them an extra special thanks for the German Curry Sauces which reminded me of my childhood and also for introducing me to the a jar of the best beans in the world by ā€œthesausagemanneversleeps.comā€ Yes, it’s not the most catchy of brand names but they taste incredible, and the website is pretty cool too.

Anyway, huge thanks to Andy & Bianca for your efforts, see you in October.

OK folks! Who’s next to take a Douglas Bakery Bag on holiday and get some funky snaps? You know the score by now. Pick up a bag, take it somewhere interesting and get a picture taken with it. Then send it in and we’ll make ya famous.

See you Wednesday from 9am

Gig In The Grounds 2026!!
Where do we start with this year’s festival?
Well, we all started with a well-earned rest!
Once again, Gig In The Grounds has been a great success, and it’s all thanks to our organisers, volunteers, funders, supporters, acts, and especially everyone who came along to enjoy another memorable weekend.

Firstly, to our organisers and volunteers. This amazing group of people are the real talent behind Gig In The Grounds. Whether they’re out front or behind the scenes, they are, without doubt, the most important part of our festival. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and passion helped keep everything running smoothly throughout the weekend.
To all of our acts, bands, and musicians: once again, our wee part of the world has been blown away by the incredibly high standard of performances this year. We were thoroughly entertained all weekend. We sincerely hope you enjoyed playing as much as we enjoyed listening to your music. Helping you sound great on stage couldn't have been done without our hardworking sound team. A special thanks goes to Dale Adair, Kenny Kerr, and Ben Reffin, who do so much more than simply keep the acts sounding great.
To everyone who came along, thank you. It’s your enjoyment that drives us to bring you the best festival we possibly can. Watching you dance, sing along, make new friends, and have a great time makes it all worthwhile for us.
To our funders and supporters, thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and belief in what we do. Your investment in our festival goes far beyond financial support; it helps bring people together, creates opportunities for artists and musicians to showcase their talents, and allows us to deliver an event that benefits our community. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment and support, and our festival simply would not have been possible without you.

Special thanks to:
Country Refreshments, Glasgow Gazebo Hire, Envirosan, Sunbelt Rentals, Inspired Events, Leigh Milne Magician & Balloon Modelling, SSE Renewables, Kennie Young, Keith Sharkey, Douglas and Angus Estates, Graham Shanks, Fraser Scobbie – Douglas Primary School, Glespin Community Group and Community Hall, Douglas Bakery, Bonnie’s Face Painting, Foundation Scotland, Nadara, Greencoat UK Wind, Kenny Kerr, Ben Reffin, ESP Music Rentals, 3R Energy, D & T Security, South Lanarkshire Council, and Fraser Goodwin.

Thank you all for helping make Gig In The Grounds 2026 another fantastic success. We couldn't do it without you.
