Two years of Izzy’s Bakes & Brews. 🤍
Today, this little shop turns two.
And I think the strangest thing about reaching this point is looking around and realising that this is my life. The early mornings, late nights baking, coffee machine, cake counter, endless lists, mess, laughter and all the familiar faces that have become part of my everyday life.
Two years ago, I had a dream and took a chance on it. I had no idea where it would take me, or just how much this little place would become a part of who I am.
There have been incredible highs, difficult moments, lessons I never expected to learn and plenty of days where I’ve had to figure things out as I go. But looking back now, I’m genuinely so grateful for the direction my life has taken.
Because this is the life I built. And I’m really proud of that.
I’m proud of the business, of how much I’ve learnt, how much I’ve grown and the fact that two years later, I’m still here, still baking, still making coffee and still dreaming about what this little shop could become.
But more than anything, I’m grateful for the people.
Some of you have been here since the very beginning, some have joined along the way, and some of you have become people I genuinely look forward to seeing every week.
Last year, when I shared a little more about some of the harder parts of life, the kindness that came back to me is something I’ll never forget. The messages, flowers, hugs, check-ins and people who simply showed up reminded me that what I’ve built here is about so much more than coffee and cake.
It’s people. It’s connection. It’s the little conversations at the counter and the people who have watched this place grow alongside me.
And somehow, you’ve watched me grow alongside it too.
Thank you for choosing this little independent coffee shop, for believing in it and for becoming such a special part of my life.
