Crispy chicken, fluffy rice and plenty of that rich Japanese curry sauce over the top.

It’s one of the most popular dishes we serve at Nigiri and, to be fair, it’s not hard to see why.

If you’ve never tried one, this is probably a good place to start. And if you have, you’ll already know what all the fuss is about.

Come in and have one with us, or get it packed up to take home.

It’s funny how quickly we all fall into the habit of ordering the same takeaway.

You find the thing you like, you know exactly what’s going to turn up at the door, and before long you’ve been ordering it for about five years.

But sometimes it’s nice to have something completely different.

That’s one of the things we love about Japanese food. There’s so much to try, and a takeaway doesn’t have to mean everyone ordering one dish and sticking to it.

Get some sushi you’ve never tried before. A couple of small plates. Some gyozas for the table. A katsu for the person who isn’t quite ready to commit to raw fish yet. Open everything up in the middle and just work your way through it.

Some things you’ll already know you love. Other things might surprise you.

We make it all fresh here in Kirkintilloch, seven days a week.

So next time you’re staring at your phone trying to decide what to have for dinner, maybe just order something you’ve never had before.

We’re a small independent restaurant, and right now costs are continuing to go up everywhere. On top of that, platforms like Just Eat can take around 18% of every order we receive through them.

We’re grateful for every single order, wherever it comes from, but losing that much each time really adds up and puts a lot of pressure on a small business like ours.

So we are asking all of our customers to download and use our app when ordering a takeaway, as this helps us keep costs down and, most importantly, keep our local business alive.

Here’s why we’d love you to use it:

1. Quicker service. We can process orders through our app more efficiently, allowing us to get your food out to you quicker!

2. It allows us to keep costs lower for you. By avoiding the Just Eat commission, we aren’t squeezed as tightly, helping us keep our prices more affordable.

3. You get to support a local business directly. Your money goes straight to a small independent restaurant rather than putting even more power in the hands of huge multinational corporations that are squeezing small businesses.

4. You’re ordering directly with us. If there’s ever an issue, change or special request with your order, you’re dealing directly with the people actually making your food — not going through a third party.
