Every Friday night we run a fish themed special menu alongside our regular main menu. This includes our fish Friday special, fish and chips, which has entered its 11th year of running! 🎉

One of our other popular Friday night dishes is our grilled Scottish salmon which we serve with a rosti filled with creamed kale, prawns, soft poached egg & chive hollandaise! If you fancy fish on Friday’s, you know where we are 🐟

Instead of pulling into busy service stations on the motorway or A66, take a small detour into our peaceful village and give yourself the proper break you need. Did you know we do a Sunday carvery? Well, you do now!

Start off with our homemade soup followed by a choice of meat, vegetables potatoes and Yorkshire puddings from the cavery. All included in the one price! £18 for up to 3 meats for an Adult and £6 for one meat for children. We also have a kids menu available too!

The Winton Barbecue 2026! A fantastic day for the village as per usual. We are always grateful to help out at events like this as the community is what it’s all about. All money raised goes back into the very community itself to help with fundraising from Christmas lights to park swings. The growth over the last 15 years has also been incredible with now upwards of 160 people helping out. One of the many reasons why we love being part of this great village community.

We've got hearty food coming out of the kitchen, plenty of choice on the bar and a pub full of character. Plenty of people first find us while passing through, then end up making us part of every trip back to Cumbria. If you haven't visited before, why not try something new.

What does a typical Lunch look like at The Bay Horse? 🍴

Everything is cooked fresh, the portions are generous and the menu is packed with traditional pub favourites that people come back to time and time again. We serve lunch Tuesday through Sunday between 12-2pm. We also offer a Sunday Carvery too! (Only on a Sunday of course) If you're travelling through Cumbria or spending a few days in and around the Kirkby Stephen area, pull in and join us. We promise you won't leave hungry.
