Today marks our fifth anniversary since we re-opened the doors of Avanti.
We would like to thank all our customers, local and from afar, for their continued support. Without you, Avanti would not be here and we couldn’t have delivered what we have!
Since opening the door we have given employment to over 100 local legends. Our immediate thoughts go to Karlos who we all miss terribly; but also to some fantastic young super-stars who have gone on to exciting studies, wonderful careers and fulfilling lives.
We have served around 8,000 steaks all supplied by Dales Traditional Butchers, who in turn source from local farms. We’ve even served 1000 fat Italian’s! We only added pasta to the menu after about a year, but have served over 27,000 portions.
We have proudly uncorked over three quarters of a million pounds of w**e, the vast majority of which is from family owned independent producers. We have also poured towards 100,000 pints, of authentic b**r, brewed where it’s meant to be!
We have served over 60,000 hot drinks, all made using our very own blend of coffee and tea from our friends at Pennington’s. We have also served gallons and gallons of delicious artisan ice cream from The Milking Parlour and had around 300 fresh flower displays from The Flower Bank.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all our wonderful and supportive local suppliers.
Have we got things 100% right 100% of the time? No, and we apologise if we got your dish wrong, mixed up your order, ran late, cooked your steak wrong, or dare I say even had to cancel a special birthday party at the last minute, sorry! We even had to cancel our very first New Year’s Eve as most of the team got Covid! For all our mistakes, we do apologise, however we assure you we are trying our best as a small family business, run by locals and supplied by local businesses.
As a family we are proud that we are only the third owners of Avanti in its 25 year history. We are proud of what we have set out to do, which is to be authentic, be honest, try our hardest, and be a social, casual place to drink, dine or catch up with family and friends; together with being a decent employer doing things by the book and putting the team first.
We cannot pretend everything is rosy in the hospitality sector, as everyone is feeling the huge pressure on costs, rates and staffing. However we are incredibly proud of how Steve and the team are working so very hard on keeping things on check and tickety-boo!
We will find a way of celebrating our 5th and Avanti’s 25th anniversary after summer; more on that another day.
