We need to say something, and we've been putting it off because we didn't know how to say it without sounding cheesy. So here goes anyway.
To every single person who's walked through our doors at Alam International "Thank you". Genuinely.
Not the generic "thanks for your custom" kind of thank you. The proper kind. The kind where we mean it.
Because here's the truth. Running a restaurant isn't just about the food (although yes, we know, the food is unreal, we're not being modest about that one). It's about who's sat in front of it. And honestly, we've got the best customers going.
You're the ones who come in for a quick bite and end up staying two hours because the banter got out of hand. You're the ones who argue with us about how much naan one table actually needs. You're the ones who've watched staff come and go, seen the place change a bit over the years, and still turn up like it's home.
Some of you have been coming since we opened. Some of you found us last month and now you're regulars who we already know the order for before you sit down. Either way, you've made this more than a job. You've made it a laugh. You've made it feel like we're not serving strangers, we're just cooking for mates who happen to pay the bill.
The atmosphere in here isn't something we manufactured. It's you lot. The chat, the wind-ups, the "where's my extra rice you forgot last time" jokes, the families who've grown up eating here, the takeaway orders on a Friday that keep us on our toes. All of it. That's what makes coming to work actually enjoyable, not just something we clock in for.
So this one's for you. Every regular, every new face, everyone who's ever recommended us to a mate, tagged us in a post, or just came back because you liked it here. We see it. We appreciate it more than a comment on Facebook can really say.
Here's to more years of feeding you, taking the mick out of each other, and pretending we don't know your order when we absolutely do.
