Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
At Kopper, and within the wider Hull Freedom Quarter, community means more than simply having somewhere to go on a night out.
It means looking out for each other.
Behind the nights out, the laughs, the posts and the “I’m fine”, we never truly know what somebody might be carrying.
So today, check in on your mates. Check in on the loud ones, the quiet ones, the ones you haven’t seen for a while and the ones who always seem absolutely fine.
And if it’s you who’s struggling, please talk to somebody. You don’t have to wait until things reach breaking point to ask for help.
Support is there:
ANDYSMANCLUB — free peer-to-peer support for men aged 18+. Groups meet Mondays at 7pm (except bank holidays), with no booking or referral needed.
Shout — text SHOUT to 85258. Free, confidential 24/7 text support.
NHS 111 — call 111 and select option 2, for urgent mental health support.
If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, call 999.
Whether you’re behind the bar, on the dancefloor, working somewhere along the street or simply part of our community:
You matter. You belong. You are not alone.
