We are excited to announce the lineup for The People's Republic on August 22nd as part of the Newland Avenue Independent Collective's NewFest!

This lineup is made up of artists we have met along the way over the last 12 years, who we have played with both in Hull and over the bridge. It's been a while since many of us have shared a stage, so it's set to be a hell of a day!

It's all kicking off at 3pm on August 22nd. It's pay what you feel on the door, so dig deep and give what you can. But most importantly, just get yourselves out ❤️

More details on what else will be going on at NewFest will be revealed shortly, so keep. Those. Eyes. Peeled 👀

***VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU LIKE ANSWERING UNHINGED QUESTIONS***

The TPR quiz is going on holiday! Some inconsiderate arse booked live music for the next two Sundays, without a care in the world for those who enjoy answering silly questions.

Our friends at Newland Tap have kindly agreed to let us host the quiz there instead on Sunday 21st June and Sunday 28th June. Same Chunk, same quiz, same time, same unhinged questions, same prizes, different pub.

It shouldn't be too hard to find Newland Tap as you can literally see it from our front door, but if you're really struggling it's 135 Newland Avenue, just opposite Level.

We'll be back to normal on Sunday 5th July.

Let’s make a Rumtopf*! And it’s been 6 weeks, time for Stage 2!

Today we need: 500g fruit (strawberries, raspberries) & 250g sugar.
Mix in a bowl and leave for 3 hours.
Check the rum mix, it should not be bubbling.
Add today’s fruit & sugar mix to it.
Add more rum. Judgement call.
Weigh down the fruit.
Cover with cellophane.
Put the lid back on, then again cover with cellophane.
See you in 6 weeks for Stage 3!

* Rumtopf is a dessert (& a drink), made with dark rum & fruit, started in Spring & consumed at advent. Seasonal fruits are added at various stages along the way.

Rock’n’Roll punks The Zipheads & Lincolnshire ska-punk band Suburban Toys play TPR for a one off show for Music Venue Trust Everywhere At Once Festival.

The Zipheads play Rock’n’Roll infused with punk, taking influence from the founding fathers of the 1950s like Little Richard and Chuck Berry, via the punk and new wave heroes of the 70s such as The Clash and Elvis Costello, along the way encompassing surf, swing, soul, country, folk, ska and reggae as well as most other types of music you could care to imagine into the mix.

To date, they have released 3 full-length albums, one instrumental EP and a handful of singles and have performed live at venues and festivals all over the UK and Europe as well as appearances in the USA.

They are supported by Suburban Toys, an original punk ska band from Lincoln.

This is part of Music Venue Trust’s Everywhere At Once Festival. Taking place on what would have been the Glastonbury Festival weekend of June 26 to 28, 2026, hundreds of Grassroots Music Venues across the country will unite for Everywhere At Once. For one extraordinary weekend, venues from Inverness to Penzance will host hundreds of major artists, touring acts and the most exciting emerging local talent in the spaces that have launched generations of musicians. This will enable audiences to experience a diverse, curated programme of live music in the intimate rooms that are the heartbeat of their neighbourhoods.

NewFest takes place on 22nd August. Ten independent businesses are working together to deliver a series of events across the day. This includes music, food, activities, and even a pop up film screening.

We are doing this for several reasons; firstly, we already have a strong working relationship, secondly independent businesses in this area are affected by the quieter summer period, and we’d like to offer the community an affordable and enjoyable day with a view to increase footfall in the area, and meet new people. This is the first time we’ve done anything like this, and we’d really like to keep it going and expand it in the future.

We’ll announce some more details next week, along with opening times, what’s on where and when, and how you can get involved. In the meantime, save the date and watch this space…

We’ll be hosting a day of music curated by Ramble Gamble from 3PM. Unfortunately it means that Buckfast Tramp will be playing but there’s some decent artists on too.

The PR Dept. have been a bit slack... but better late than never. The absolute legend that is is back on Sunday 21st June. 8PM start - pay what you can via .app.

Fraser Morgan; a rapidly up and coming Folk-Punk/Singer-Songwriter who’s known for their relentless gigging and for bringing to the stage high levels of passion, energy, and showmanship.

Whether he's playing solo or with his band “Fraser Morgan and the Great Catastrophes”, Fraser keeps the crowd on their toes and captivated, delivering a performance that is often compared to the likes of Ren, Frank Turner and Jamie T.

Fraser recently played his 1000th show to a sold-out crowd at Colchester Arts Centre, and this experience shows when he's putting on a beautifully chaotic, yet passionate and enjoyable performance. Throughout his live shows, Fraser keeps the crowd laughing between songs with his unpredictable, dad-like humour, whilst also delivering important messages of mental health within the songs themselves.
