The Pumpkin Festival returns to Humble Bee Farm Glamping & Camping this October!
The gorgeous glampsite in Flixton near Scarborough is open to the public for the event - 17th, 18th, 24th to 29th and 31st October.

Explore the pumpkin patch to choose the perfect pumpkin and carve it in the barn, keep an eye out for the witch!
Whilst at the farm meet the friendly farmyard gang – alpacas, micro pigs, Tilly the Shetland pony, and more. Walk their nature trails, explore the play areas and site and call at The Hive cafe bar for some seasonal treats.
We've done this event in past years and always loved it; the farm is always decorated in a fun, spooky way and it's an easy, low mess, affordable Halloween experience.

If you want to make a longer visit, you can book glamping accommodation and stay on site for a halt term staycation.
We've also stayed on site in the past, October half term is a great time to see the countryside and coast in Autumn. We had a cosy wigwam cabin and toasted marshmallows on our firepit after picking our pumpkins 😍 🎃

🎃 Halloween Slime Workshop & Play – Wednesday 28th October, 1.30-3.30pm. Touch, mix, explore and make slime to take home.

🎃 Halloween Disco – Friday 30th October, 9.30am, 11.30am or 1.30pm. Creepy crafts, games, potion corner, biscuit decorating, fancy dress optional.

Something to do this weekend... NEW netball sessions for children age 4-16 years in Willerby!

Pivotal Netball Academy was created by the lovely Amy to give young people the opportunity to enjoy netball, develop skills and build confidence in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment.
They offer pay-as-you-go weekend coaching sessions and school holiday camps for children of all abilities, with no selection, trial process or pressure.

Weekend sessions run on both Saturdays and Sundays at Wolfreton School (outdoor courts with the indoor sports hall for bad weather).
💜Reception to Year 6 at 9am
💜Year 7 to Year 11 at 10am

You need to book in advance on their website, details on poster (it's a cheaper price if you book more than 48 hours before), or you can email Amy on [email protected]

I play netball and my daughter often comes to watch me. She's not been confident enough to try out for a kids team or school team but she really likes the sport and is keen to give these sessions a try, so look out for our review!

The next fantastic children's theatre show heading to Hull is...... Dear Zoo!
Rod Campbell’s timeless tots book is live on stage at Hull City Hall on Saturday 17th October, with shows at 1.30pm and 4pm.

I have read this book hundreds of times to my kids and it's still on our book shelf, with a few flaps missing and a few sellotape'd back on. Even though they are older now, I cannot part with it!

Well that was a very different weekend!
I went to Amsterdam and ran the Dam to Dam 10 miles, and survived!

We go to Amsterdam a lot and love the city; often on the P&O ferry as foot passengers or we take the car and do a Holland centre parcs/eurocamp then Amsterdam roadtrip. But this time I went ON MY ACTUAL OWN! No kids, I flew from Humberside, and I ran!

The Dam to Dam is more of a party than a run. You start from Amsterdam Central Station and head out out over lots of dams and rivers, through beautiful villages, to reach Zandam. Along the way are DJ boxes, bands and villages lined with people playing music and cheering you on. This was the 40th year its taken place so music was being played from the last 4 decades.
There is a kids 5 mile option, a night time race option, and then the main 10 mile route which goes on all day.

If you like running, NN Dam tot Damloop is a really good race to look at - I got there quicker than I would have got to lots of parts of the UK for runs.
The KLM UK flight is 45 minutes from Humberside and I had this stunning view of the Humber, Spurn Point and the Grimsby docks to great me home as we came in to land.

The countdown is on for the Hull & East Riding Mumbler Baby Show 💜

The event is at Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Willerby from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 18th October. It's ideal for expecting parents and for parents/grandparents/carers with babies.
There will be lots of stalls to browse, information and advice from professionals, and a program of taster sessions and demo's running throughout the event that you can join in with.
It's FREE to attend and no booking necessary, just drop in.

This fabulous show from The Herd Theatre is now touring community venues in Hull and the East Riding - and it's FREE to watch!

Aimed at parents with babies 0-12 months, Baby Brain is a new interactive show inspired by real life stories and cutting edge neuroscience, and brought to life with playful design and sensory action. It will delight babies whilst helping parents understand what’s going on inside their child’s head, and going some way to figuring out what on earth is happening in theirs.
