Biscuits and gravy

Most of you will know, but for those who don’t,
We’re not talking Mcvities and Bisto.

Soft buttery savoury scones provide a pillowy base for what is essentially a generously sausage meat and smoked lardon packed bèchamel.
We’ve added some eggs to make it desayuno appropriate and some crispy belly bacon.
Every now and again you’ll get a little crispy sage leaf too.

Available on our brunch menu, served everyday from 10am,

As always, food for cowboys believes in “hand made everything.” Our brunch is no different. It’s made from scratch by people who love food.

Huevos rancheros

Probably the most famous Mexican breakfast dish in the world,
Often just reduced to being simply called “Mexican eggs” in your neighbourhood brunch cafe, but it doesn’t pack a punch like this.

Ours, as with everything we do is done the long way.
With our hand made everything approach to cooking.

Hidden below too much manchego cheese, we start with beef tallow fried hand pressed corn tortillas.
Smokey black beans fried in fat rendered from chorizo are spread over plate setting the stage for a flavour turf war as each of our salsa stake their claim to a section of the plate, this means every bite gives you a different combination to taste.
Then the huevos, soft runny butter fried eggs, looking like they’re straight from a packet of Haribo star mix.

Brunch is served every day, 10am until 3pm

Our returning brunch menu visits the border states to celebrate and mourn the end of a long dry summer.

Seasonal mushrooms and greens sautéed in the fat from rendering smoked bacon lardons.
The southern comfort comes from the generous ladle of buttery, vintage cheddar cheese spiked grits.

Other then a few toasted pumpkin seeds that rounds off our fist dish on the brunch menu

¡Ha Vuelto!

from next Tuesday (22nd) we will be open for brunch everyday*

It means the return of those hash browns, Huevos rancheros and other much missed classics,
There will be some new additions and weekly specials too.

we bring our “handmade everything” quality led cooking approach to brunch.

with that comes new opening times,
10am - 10pm Tuesday until Sunday

Being a cowboy!

To everyone that applied for the front of house jobs this week I’ll be getting back in touch through this week!

We love .are.marlas and their reasonably priced T-shirts!

A proper jewel of Hull and my local brunch spot.
I was for quite sometime a walking talking billboard for Marla’s and always in a Marla’s tee.

Now I’m always in Food for Cowboys clothing and if I’m not at the restaurant I’ve usually got a trusty Cowboys tote bag stuffed with nappies and wet wipes too!
