Mother of Theo, maker of jewellery (available for cash at the bar), drinker of lager-and-lime, local frother of coffee, and Tambourine Extraordinaire in Buckfast Tramp is turning 29 again!

Drinks prizes, host and format as excellent as ever, it's just on the odd side of the road this week...

🍺✏️ On Tuesday from 7pm, it's Drink and Doodle night with Our Gorg at the helm... Line your stomachs for this one, yeah? 😅👌

🎸🍻 Wednesday's Tunes on Tap (from 8pm) this month stars the secretly-until-recently very talented Hannah and her lovely George's duo set, as well as the very first solo set by Dead In Blue frontman and altogether smashing bloke Josh Berndtson - it's pay what you like and goes straight in the artists' pockets, so bring cash 😊

**Big, special, gushing thanks go to Meg Baillie for her beautiful posters, the lending of her expertise in musician management, and generally using all twelve of her brains and countless arms to help make HU5 the circus it is 🫡**

***VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU LIKE ANSWERING UNHINGED QUESTIONS***

The TPR quiz is going on holiday! Some inconsiderate arse booked live music for the next two Sundays, without a care in the world for those who enjoy answering silly questions.

Our friends at Newland Tap have kindly agreed to let us host the quiz there instead on Sunday 21st June and Sunday 28th June. Same Chunk, same quiz, same time, same unhinged questions, same prizes, different pub.

It shouldn't be too hard to find Newland Tap as you can literally see it from our front door, but if you're really struggling it's 135 Newland Avenue, just opposite Level.

We'll be back to normal on Sunday 5th July.

TUNES ON TAP *NEXT WEDNESDAY* 24th of June!

And just look at THIS for a line up!

We have the stunning duo, Gorg and Hnnh (AKA Hannah and George), joining us. Beautiful vocals, accompanied by melodic guitars

And for his first solo gig, the amazing, Josh Berndtson!

You may recognise or know, George and Josh, as being two thirds, of the awesome, Dead in Blue, yet we are reassured, this will be a slightly quieter gig, of two halves, for those wishing, to come and chill, to some lovely music, in lovely company, with us, here at Newland Tap - (yet still, lots of hair🤘)

Join us from 8pm - or slightly earlier, if you want to bag a seat 😁

**NEWFEST ALERT**
Please Like & Share 🙏

We're Excited AF to announce we're taking part in an event showcasing Newland Avenue's vibrant independent hospitality scene ❤️

'NewFest' is a collective effort from 10 of the currently *excellent* lineup of independent venues here in our beloved and unique avenue - -

15+ hours of gigs, events, food and drinks offers is happening in the space of a short stumble - what's not to like?!

Plenty of family friendly stuff planned, and a range of different atmospheres in each venue - come and meet all the great people with open doors, hearts and minds in your neighbourhood 😊

Tap will be hosting a singaround in the afternoon, so if you're a noodler, bring summat to noodle with!
(we have secure storage space so you can be free across the venues without your cumbersome instruments)
Much more to be announced here, and LOADS of stuff going on within a stone's throw 🎉🎈

Here's a somewhat more informative and less overexcited summary from Meg:

"NewFest takes place on 22nd August. Ten independent businesses are working together to deliver a series of events across the day. This includes music, food, activities, and even a pop up film screening.

We are doing this for several reasons; firstly, we already have a strong working relationship, secondly independent businesses in this area are affected by the quieter summer period, and we’d like to offer the community an affordable and enjoyable day with a view to increase footfall in the area, and meet new people. This is the first time we’ve done anything like this, and we’d really like to keep it going and expand it in the future.

We’ll announce some more details next week, along with opening times, what’s on where and when, and how you can get involved. In the meantime, save the date and watch this space…"
