Time for a really sad goodbye 💔😭

We just wanted to give a massive shout-out, a huge thank you, and all of our love to our gorgeous Jessie, who is sadly (for us!) moving back home to Wiltshire 🏡🌾

She has been with us since day one, which makes this even harder 🥺 Our dream pub was brought to life by the most amazing bunch of people around us, including Jessie 🍻✨ She was the baby of the Bear, but you certainly wouldn't want to mess with her! 💪🐻
We have so many stories to share from our time here, so it truly feels like the end of an era 📸💫
We wish you all the best, Jessie, and we can’t wait to see you enjoying the fun side of the bar when you’re back visiting! 🥂🍾🎉

On another note, we are closed today and next Wednesday 🗓️❌ So for the next two weeks, we will only be open Thursday-Sunday🍻⏰ Due to a few reasons that have been completely out of our hands, it’s annoyingly a decision we’ve had to make to keep things running smoothly 🙈
It’s only for two weeks, I promise! 🙏 We’ll still be here Thursday through Sunday to welcome you all in ❤️

Forget everything you think you know about traditional trifle. James has completely elevated this menu showstopper! ⚡️
We’re pairing locally grown rhubarb with velvet-smooth white chocolate crème pâtissière, delicate génoise sponge, and torched Italian meringue. Served with honey and ginger ice cream, it's sweet, tangy, and dangerously moreish. 🤤✨
Crafted with love, packed with flavour, and proof that our dessert game just got a serious upgrade. 🥂

Happy Friday! 🎉 Yay, the weekend is basically here and we have two fantastic gigs lined up that you really don't want to miss!

Tonight, we have The Hungry Bears taking the stage at 8pm! Come on down, show them how we party, and give them a proper, warm Bear and Blacksmith welcome to start the weekend right. 🍻

Then on Sunday, the insanely awesome Busta Groove are back and taking over the garden from 3pm. ☀️🎷

🥂 Wedding Bells at the Bear & Blacksmith! 🥂

Tomorrow (Saturday 13th June), we have the absolute honour of hosting the wedding of two of our wonderful locals, Tara and Nick, right here at the pub!
Because we are hosting their special ceremony and daytime celebrations, our doors will be closed during the day and we will be serving no food at all tomorrow.
But the celebrations don't stop there... 🎉
🕗 From 5:00 pm we are opening up the party to the whole community! Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along, grab some b**rs, hit the dance floor, and celebrate with the newlyweds.
🎤 At 7:30 p.m. We have the fantastic Becky Brine performing live to get the evening reception properly rocking!
We are sorry for the daytime closure, but we are incredibly excited to host such a special day. Huge congratulations in advance to Tara and Nick, we can't wait to celebrate your love story.
