Well that’s us over and out. The coffee machine is off, and our door closed for the last time. Thank you so much Kingsbridge. It has been an incredible 15 years, and the love that you’ve shown us and the team over the last couple of weeks has been amazing.

We couldn’t have embarked and survived this wonderful coffee journey we’ve been on without you all coming through our door every day. It means the world to us that you have supported us, many of you from the very beginning. So, we thank each and everyone one of you from the bottom of our hearts - including those that are sadly no longer with us - for helping us to achieve our dream. Coasters became more than we could have ever imagined, and has been a huge part of our lives. We will miss you all ❤️

There have been many suppliers who have provided us with fantastic products over the years, but we’d also like to say a special thanks to some who have helped us in our journey to provide Kingsbridge with the best coffee we could. So thank you: the late Roger Trembath for taking a chance on us and letting us take the unit on in the first place!; Ian and family for letting us loose at their cafe on ‘work experience’ all those years ago; Ed and all the team at for their introduction to such fabulous coffee and supporting us so well over the last 15 years; for helping us develop our offering and take it to the next level and for generally being such an inspiration and always willing to take time to chat all things coffee. And of course, the cakes…. Thank you .hq & for creating such delicious bakes!

And we can’t say goodbye without a big thank you to our wonderful team members throughout the years, who without a doubt have been such a major part of making Coasters, ‘Coasters’. From Betty, Sarah & Daisy in the early days, who made our first tentative steps in being employers easier than we had imagined. To the current team - Janet, Alex and the legend that is Charlotte - you guys have been such a joy to work alongside over the last 18 months or so. Keeping smiling and being so supportive, especially throughout the uncertainty of the last few months. You have been absolute stars.

Thank you all for your messages and kind words, you guys really are the best 😍 We have read them all and are so touched by all your comments and will respond when we get the chance, but until then, just to answer a few of everyone’s questions….

- We are staying in the area, just going to have a bit of a break and then come back in June to launch our new venture - TaskHub Kingsbridge - offering a reliable service to home owners and small businesses to complete small one-off tasks/chores/maintenance at a reasonable cost. We have built up a lot of skills over the years what with completing two house renovation’s by ourselves, a shop fit-out, on-going home & shop maintenance and running the business itself (coffee skills & knowledge/social media/admin etc.) so plan to put those to good use and help out as and where we are needed 🙂

- So, no, no plans for a Coasters 2 anywhere 😂

- This is purely a personal decision as it’s time for us to move onto new things now our lease is ending. The business has been doing well and despite all the ongoing challenges post-Covid, has been growing steadily over the last few years (thanks to you all supporting us so well!)

- We don’t know what will be going in the unit after we leave. It’s a great place to trade from and (ironically!) we have just had our best year yet, so perfect for someone to take on. Drop us a line and we can put you in touch with the landlord if interested.

✨Coasters Update ✨
After 15 amazing years and with our lease coming to an end, we will be hanging up our aprons and closing the doors to Coasters Coffee for the final time on Sat 22nd Feb at 2pm.

Our decision has not been made lightly, as we really do love being a part of the town and serving coffee to you all, but it is time for us to move on to new adventures and opportunities.

We will be open as normal until the 22nd, so hope to be able to say a proper goodbye to you all before we close. However, if we don’t see you, thank you so much for your support over the years – being part of Kingsbridge and its community has meant the world to us and we couldn’t have done it without you all.

Excuse us this morning, our brain matter was worked hard last night at the quiz 😂 We didn’t do too badly though (& Charlotte even won the raffle prize we had donated 🤣)

All in all a great night, a fantastic turnout raising much needed funds for their work in the town (even more needed now with council funding cuts and the mindless vandalism of those who trashed some of their trees overnight 😡)

We had a rather nice winter coat left behind just before Christmas that still hasn’t been claimed. We can’t store it for much longer, so please drop us a message asap with the make if it’s yours, as we will have to take it to a charity shop if it’s not claimed by Sun 12th 🙂
