Well they do say when one door closes, another opens… 👀

Can anyone guess where we’ve acquired just in time for the May Bank Holiday? 😍

We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we keep all our amazing staff on, and while this is the end of the Twenty Seven chapter, it’s the start of something even bigger and better 😎

But watch this space… because we’ll still be keeping the Kingsbridge site and relaunching it as something completely NEW & fresh this September 🔥

We said we were going out with a bang!... tonight (Thursday) we are running a surprise tasting menu:

7 courses – £50

Announcement

After 8 successful years, Twenty Seven will be closing its doors on 23rd May.

This hasn’t been an easy decision. But after a lot of honest number-crunching, the reality is that fine dining in Kingsbridge just doesn’t stack up anymore.

It’s incredibly labour-intensive, produce costs are high, and with linen, supplies and wages all continuing to rise — there’s only so long I can keep propping it up.

At the same time, Thirty Three by the Sea is flying, and it’s made me realise that a more relaxed style of dining is what people want right now. The truth is, I don’t want to be working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, for free anymore.

I want to go out on a high.

We’ve won more awards than I ever imagined, and I’m incredibly proud of what the team and I have built here.

For the final three weeks, we’ll be running a last menu of some of our favourite classics and I'll be in the kitchen every day— a proper send-off to everything Twenty Seven has been.

Twenty Seven isn’t disappearing completely — it will continue on the road through my private events and cheffing.

23rd May will be our final day — ironically, exactly 8 years to the day since we first opened our doors.

A huge thank you to all of our customers for your support over the years, and of course to my amazing Claire, and to my incredible team.

Hopefully I’ll continue to see many of you at Thirty Three by the Sea.

The chefs have been absolutely flat out this week with two fully booked restaurants 🔥 but we’re not slowing down…

We’re gearing up for salcombecrabfest
tomorrow and it’s going to be a big one 🦀

Jamie will be down in the Creek car park with the team, cooking up an unreal menu you don’t want to miss.

A few highlights we’re seriously excited about:

✨ Lobster Arancini – black garlic & parmesan… rich, crispy, and ridiculously good
✨ Fruits de Mer Linguini – loaded with crab, prawns, mussels & scallops in a Thai-spiced lobster broth
✨ Seafood Salad – fresh, punchy, with smoked mackerel pâté and bloody marie rose
✨ Dirty Crab Fries – sriracha, parmesan & crispy onions… need we say more?

It’s going to be busy, it’s going to be loud, and it’s going to be seriously tasty.

🛑 IMPORTANT NOTICE ⚠️

Hello everyone, Jamie here.
I wanted to speak honestly.

Over the past few months, we’ve been constantly analysing the business as trade has declined due to the ongoing culvert situation here in Kingsbridge.

At one point, I seriously considered temporarily closing the restaurant and reopening once things returned to normal. The disruption is having a massive impact on us.

April has been the toughest month we’ve had in 8 years.

What makes it even harder is that we came into this year stronger than ever—January and February were our best winter months to date. To now find ourselves in this position has been incredibly challenging.

But closing just isn’t what we do.
So instead, we've got a new plan!...

2 courses £25
3 courses £35

It honestly feels like Twenty Seven is a cat with nine lives—but this restaurant is my life’s work, and I’m not ready to let it go.

Now more than ever, we need your support.

To help make things easier:
🚦We’ll cover your parking at lunchtime by taking up to £6 off your bill with proof of a ticket
🚦We’re opening one hour earlier from 5pm so you can make the most of free parking from 2pm
🚦And we’ve introduced our Kingsbridge Chaos Menu to offer something special, accessible, and worth the journey
