📚💚 Your book donations are making a real difference. 💚📚

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated books to The Plot Twist. We are still happily accepting your pre-loved books, and we can't tell you how grateful we are for your kindness and generosity.

Donating second-hand books is such a wonderful way to care for the environment. By giving your books a second life, you're helping to reduce waste, recycle, and ensure that stories you've loved can find beautiful new homes and be enjoyed all over again.

But the story doesn't end there...

Every book sold at The Plot Twist also helps support our local community. A percentage of our book sales is donated to the 8:56 Foundation a men's mental health charity based here in King's Lynn.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from the 8:56 Foundation into the shop for coffee, cake, and a chat about how we can work together. We're so excited to be collaborating with such an incredible local charity.

Very soon, we'll be hosting a Saturday morning meet-up here at The Plot Twist, where the 8:56 Foundation will be our special guests. They'll be here to share more about who they are, the vital support they provide for men in our community, and any upcoming events they have planned. Keep an eye on our page—we'll be announcing the date soon!

In the meantime, if you'd like to find out more or support their amazing work, we now have information leaflets and a donation box available on our counter.

So when you donate a book, you're not just clearing a little shelf space—you’re helping the planet, sharing the joy of reading, supporting a local independent business, and contributing to a cause that truly matters.

**Every great story has a plot twist... and ours came a little earlier than expected! 📖✨**

As we reach the end of our second week, we're learning something new with every chapter.

One thing we've discovered? Our mornings (and early afternoons!) have been so wonderfully busy that Laura has barely had a chance to step away from the coffee machine! ☕❤️

So, after turning the page, we've decided to close the chapter on lunch service for now.

Instead, we're filling the counter (and your tummies!) with even more delicious grab-and-go treats to pair with your favourite coffee. Think flaky pastries, our now-famous cheese scones, cakes, cinnamon buns, and plenty of new goodies making guest appearances throughout the weeks

We're learning as we go, and we're so grateful you've come along for the story.

📚☕ Plot Twist... We Made It Through Week One! ☕📚

What an amazing Saturday... actually, what an amazing week!

It's official — we've completed our very first week of being open. 🎉

There have been a few teething problems and little hiccups along the way (as every new adventure brings!), but we've overcome them, learned a lot, and most importantly, we've had the most incredible support from all of you.

We've received such wonderful feedback, met some truly lovely customers, and had a genuinely fantastic first week. Seeing people enjoying the bookshop, discovering new reads, and relaxing with a coffee has made all the hard work worthwhile.

We're now closing for a couple of days. Although "time off" might be a bit optimistic, as there's still plenty to do behind the scenes to get everything ready for Week Two! 📖✨

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting us, cheering us on, and being part of the beginning of this journey. We are so grateful.

We can't wait to welcome you back next week for more books, coffee, and good company. ❤️

📢 A quick update from The Plot Twist

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected technical issue in our kitchen, we won't be able to offer our lunch menu today.

The good news is that we're still open as usual for coffee, cakes, sweet & savoury treats, and of course plenty of books to browse & buy.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while we get things sorted. We hope to have our full menu back as soon as possible.
