Bodenham Bound 2026 – Thank You!

What a fantastic evening!

With 34 runners taking on the course and 27 amazing marshals helping to keep everyone safe and on track, Bodenham Bound 2026 was a great success.

The weather was absolutely perfect for running, and it was wonderful to hear so many runners commenting on just how beautiful the course and surroundings were. Whilst there were certainly a few challenging sections, there were plenty of smiles along the way too!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event possible. From those who spent the afternoon helping us set up the course, to every marshal who gave up their evening to support the runners – we simply couldn't have done it without you.

Thank you also to everyone who entered and took part. Your support means we will be able to raise funds for our chosen charity, the Community Help Centre. We are especially grateful to the HELP team for providing marshals and supporting the event.

Now it's time for a well-earned rest, but we're already looking forward to 2nd of January 2027 - Save the Date

A huge thank you to Colin Hill for supporting the event and taking all the photos - I hope that you love them, they are some fabulous shots

Thank you Bodenham aboretum for hosting our event and helping us support local chariaties

Thank you all for making Bodenham Bound 2026 such a special evening.

Yesterday - Friday 12 June marked a significant milestone for Bodenham Arboretum - the completion of our solar project – the installation of 292 solar roof panels and the generation of 162 kilo watts per hour / 135,000 kilo watts annually for our Visitor Centre and Farm.

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier cut the ribbon of the ‘Control Room,’ cheered on by pupils from Cookley and Wolverley Sebright Primary Schools, fresh from a lesson in the conversion of sunlight to energy.

Third-generation family co-owner Sam Binnian, described how the successful organisation of the project was made possible by bringing specialist teams together to ensure a harmonious outcome with minimum disruption. Bodenham appointed Shrewsbury based ESP Energy to design and install the system, whilst National Grid were responsible for the connection to 3-phase electricity (a constant, higher-power supply).

According to ESP Energy, Bodenham’s system will reduce Bodenham’s CO2 emissions by 34 tons per year. Over its lifetime – 25 years, it is also predicting that the energy saved will be the equivalent of just over 1,000,000 km of car travel or 718 long haul flights. Alternatively, it will have had the same benefit of having planted just under 6,500 trees – something which resonates extremely loudly with us at Bodenham Arboretum!

Visitors will soon be able to see a dedicated display in the Visitor Centre showing energy generation, consumption, and grid export in real time.
