From Jan 31st - March 31st, it is believed that an act of making a pilgrimage to the Buddha’s footprint equates to appearing before the Lord himself and is considered as a great meritorious deed to Khao Khitchakut in Chanthaburi. The Buddha's footprint is located on top of Khao Kitchakut and you can either take a local 4x4 up or walk up. Why not visit next time you're in Thailand =)

Yakitori (which literally means grilled chicken skewer, but can consists of other meat / veggies on the skewers) is a popular drinking food and you can find them in almost all festivals held in Japan. Tomorrow is Makha Bucha Day, is one of the important days for Buddhists. History is told that 1,250 disciples came to see the Buddha that evening without being summoned. On this day, each temple in Thailand holds a candlelight procession called a wian thian (wian meaning to circle around; thian meaning candle). Holding flowers, incense and a lighted candle, the monks and congregation members circumambulate clockwise three times around the phra ubosot (ordination hall) - once for each of the Three Jewels – the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.

Nam Phrik is a generic term that may refer to any of the types of more or less viscous, spicy, chili-based, hot sauces typical of Thai cuisine. Usual ingredients for nam phrik are fresh or dry chilies, garlic, shallots, lime juice and often some kind of fish or shrimp paste and is normally served on small saucers placed by the main dish as a condiment or dip for bland preparations, such as raw or boiled greens, fish, poultry and meats. Have you tried any of type of Nam Phrik??
