Running a pub in 2026 feels like pouring a pint with one hand while HMRC empties the till with the other. 🍺💸

At The Thornhill Arms, we’re proud to support the campaign to bring hospitality VAT down to 10%.

Pubs, restaurants, cafés and hotels are the backbone of communities — creating jobs, supporting local suppliers and giving people somewhere to escape the in-laws for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. 🍻

Right now, the industry is being absolutely battered.
Energy costs through the roof, suppliers increasing prices weekly, and don’t even get us started on the price of cooking oil… we nearly had to put the roast potatoes in a jewellery cabinet. 🥔😂

We don’t want sympathy… just a fair chance.

A lower VAT rate means:
🍴 More support for local hospitality
🍺 Better value for customers
👨‍🍳 Protecting jobs and small businesses
🏡 Keeping proper village pubs alive

Because without pubs… where else are Dave and Gary supposed to argue about football, weather forecasts and whether Guinness tastes better in Ireland? 🤷‍♂️🍺
