Now the mad days of summer is over it’s probably one of the best times to come to experience Derwent Water as the colours of the native deciduous trees start to change. A blue day at this time of year can be amazing.
Park and Sail {which is a community initiative) is a great way to get around the Lake, including access to Cat Bells, Maiden Moor etc
Or hop on and off and do beautiful Brandlehow Woods (National Trust’s first property purchase) or call in at Lingholm or the Chalet for brunch or lunch.
£5 all day parking, close to Town Centre (fraction of the main car parks owned by Cumberland Council) and you get 15% off the launches. And your parking money helps a local community asset. The £2.3m clubhouse is great for a drink or food too.

Tommy the soldier covered in the rays of the morning sun. Sadly for many soldiers like Tommy they didn’t get to see many sunrises in their short lives.

Did you know in Keswick there’s a community initiative aiming to reduce traffic on the roads around Derwent Water and Borrowdale whilst helping a local sports club and community asset at Keswick Rugby Club? Park and Sail, set up on Covid.
All day parking for hundreds of vehicles (pitches now open) at £5 per day and 15% off launches with voucher from machines.

Or if you are just visiting the town it’s cheap parking. Much, much cheaper than the council owned Central Car Parks and this money stays in Keswick.
Also often free when others are full.

Keswick and the Derwent Valley is getting busier all the time.
This imitative reduces traffic and combines cheap parking and a 15% discount off the launches on Derwent Water.
A great way to get about - especially to Cat Bells.
The Rugby Club has parking for around 200 vehicles and is 20 minutes easy walk over glorious Crow Park to the boat landings,
The Club also has a great bar and the best terrace in Keswick!
You can also just park there for the town…
