After 21 years at Lake Road, and 29 years in business together, we have sold our last business.
What a time we have had ! Buying Keswick Lodge in 1992 as four young whipper snappers, followed by Morrel’s Restaurant and Rooms, Oakbank Hotel, it has been an adventure.
We’ve been through Foot and Mouth, petrol shortages, floods, covid pandemics, lockdowns – mainly with a smile on our faces and unreservedly serving great food at reasonable prices and an atmosphere welcoming all.
We have hosted weddings, funerals, christenings, all major milestone birthdays, retirements, hen parties, stag dos and even witnessed couple of proposals
The staff we have had over the years are far too many to mention. Some have sadly passed away, some are in prison ! and some have achieved great things – starting their own businesses, achieving Michelin Stars, teachers, nurses, police officers, to name a few. They have all contributed in some way to create an amazing hospitality experience.
We wish Fellpack all the very best and hope they enjoy their time at 34 Lake Road as much as we have.

And we are off – Errol is going fishing in the Orkney Isles with Pogba, Karl will be mastering his plate spinning before joining Blackpool Tower Circus for the 2021 season, Bex will be fulfilling her dream of becoming a Black Cab Driver in London, and Carol, well, she is off to Monaco to join her companion Sebastian on his 50 foot yacht.

Well, Tier 4 it is, so we will be closing at 11pm this evening until further notice.
Our first NYE off for 20 years, and we can’t even go to the pub !
