Even though the café is closed I still have a few customers to keep my skills up. Today's delight for raspberry and passionfruit cupcakes with cream cheese frosting sprinkled with freeze dried raspberry powder and pretty pink crystals. Baking is still my passion and I now infuse all my bakes with Reiki.

Tonight I was invited to try a potential vegan menu here in Keswick. The venue is not vegan but dear me they are trying.

Every sauce will be vegan!!!! I tried........

Smoked crumbled tofu bao buns
Sesame tofu bites
Honea sauce tofu bites
Hot Honea no meatballs
Crispy cauliflower bites
No meat balls in roasted pepper sauce
Whipped hummus and roasted beetroot
Two types of corn ribs

Would you support a non vegan business that can offer that and more???? Honestly I'm a bit emotional that a local couple are trying so hard to give us such insanely good options.

Oh and every dish was delicious 😋😋😋😋

So this year instead of sending Xmas cards, I've donated to this very lovely tiny charity. Pumpkin and friends provide support to disabled animals and really need a vehicle to do their best work.

I'm also fundraising for them, and Dementia UK, by taking on the Great North Run in Sept next year. I'll be selling cupcakes each week to help me hit my targets. More on that when I'm back in the UK.

As always, I will promote any business that provides lovely vegan options. Rarely, if ever have I posted a non vegan or veggie business but this Sunday roast was so good I felt it necessary to share the joy. This is a London business but our lovely followers are from all over the UK (and the world). If you are in London and are looking for a Sunday roast that you don't feel short changed by,The Green Man at Putney should be on your list. I was with non vegans and my Sunday roast was every bit as beautifully presented and carefully considered as theirs. My main was a squash and mushroom wellington - delicious. Pricing reflects the lack of a Yorkshire pudding. Definitely book, it was full and we saw many people turned away as there was no space.

It is a Youngs pub so other ones may offer something similar.

I miss cooking for people so much. Today I'm roasting off some plum tomatoes, garlic, peppers and banana shallots sprinkled with sea salt and drizzled with ethically sourced organic unfiltered olive oil. My home smells divine. I'm then going to slow cook these gorgeous ingredients all day and turn them into a stunning tomato sauce to add to a pasta dish. Of course I could buy a bottle pre-made, but it won't be anywhere near as delicious.

I just love cooking with fresh seasonal ingredients, it's such a luxury. Speaking of which, yes this particular olive oil is definitely a luxury and wouldn't fit my grocery budget, so I use my supermarket cashback vouchers to buy it and other such luxury items. Last month I was able to buy the tiniest truffle with my vouchers. It's so precious to me as I've never been able to justify the cost, it's still in its little bottle waiting for me to create the perfect dish for it.

I miss my café and being able to create dishes that are full of flavour and bring both me and our customers such joy.

Although we are closed, we will always promote awesome vegan places.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting The Botanical Kitchen in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Debbie and Peter have created a warm and inviting space with a lovely menu that changes regularly. I had camembert and red onion sourdough and a side of olives. Honestly the cheeze, which they make themselves, was incredible. I will definitely be back, I can't wait to try the Sunday roasts.

They are still waiting to be listed on Google maps, so type in 4 St Martin's Parade in Bowness-On-Windermere and you'll find them no problems.
