It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Club Secretary, Ian Heath, on 3rd August following a short illness. Ian passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband to Ann, a devoted dad to Jo and Hels, and a much-loved grandad.

Ian gave over 50 years of service to Netherfield Cricket Club after first joining the club in 1975. His dedication and commitment to Netherfield were second to none, and his contribution to the club over five decades is impossible to measure.
Ian joined the committee in 1979, initially serving as Treasurer before taking on the role of Club Secretary, a position he held with pride and distinction for many years. He was the driving force behind so much that happened at the club, quietly working behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly. Whatever needed doing, Ian was always there.

Alongside his administrative roles, Ian played a huge part in developing junior cricket at Netherfield. He dedicated countless hours to nurturing young cricketers, inspiring what was probably thousands of children to take up the game he loved. His passion for junior cricket helped shape generations of players, many of whom went on to represent the club at senior level. His influence reached far beyond the boundary, and his legacy will continue every time a young player pulls on a Netherfield shirt.

Ian wasn't just a committee member or club official; he was the heart of Netherfield Cricket Club. He was a trusted friend, a mentor, a source of knowledge and encouragement, and someone whose love for the club never faded. Through the highs and lows, the successes and challenges, Ian's loyalty never wavered.

His passing leaves an enormous void, not only within Netherfield Cricket Club but throughout the local cricketing community. He will be remembered with immense affection, gratitude and respect by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Ian's funeral will take place on Wednesday 19th August at 11:00am at Beetham Crematorium.

Everyone at Netherfield Cricket Club extends their heartfelt condolences to Ann, Jo, Hels and all of Ian's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Carlton's Day

For everyone attending Carlton's Day on Sunday, Netherfield Cricket Club are looking forward to hosting this amazing event. We will have an outside bar under the Bainbridge Electrical Ltd marquee (Thank you James Dickinson for your continued support. Selling draught beer, soft drinks and wines. Cash or card. Please note No cash back available on either bar. The inside bar will operate a one way system to avoid conjestion (entrance through the function room exit through the members door)

Be prepared to be asked for id as we practice 'Challenge 25'. No Id when asked no service!
