Welcome to Charlies Cafe Bar page. We are a well established business in the South Lakes town of Kendal offering good quality, locally sourced food to our customers. Charlies is located in a historic building, where once Bonnie Prince Charlie slept, hence the name. We pride ourselves in providing good customer service, great tasting food that is cooked to order, at a fair price. Our outsi

de garden seating area is a wonderful escape from the bustle of the town centre and is a great place to enjoy our lovely food and drink selection, iwhatever the weather!! We cater very well for young families; providing a baby change area for mums and dads to use, highchairs and toy sacks to keep the children happy, in addition to our children's menu. Fresh scones, large biscuits and delicious traybake's are baked on the premises daily and our soup is made from fresh ingredients. The menu includes; freshly prepared sandwiches and salads, omelettes, Welsh rarebit with a variety of toppings, all day breakfasts and breakfast muffins, using local eggs and Cumberland sausages, daily specials, ice creams and puddings. Come and have a coffee and use our free wifi and sign in on Swipii for loyalty bonus points.

What a scorcher of a week!

We are so lucky to have the secluded garden that has been full, we have plenty of indoor seating as well to help keep you cool 😎

Only have half a bottle of our homemade elderflower cordial left so grab a refreshing glass whilst you can. 🍋

Some of this week's specials include,
the poached salmon open sandwich, crispy prawn ciabatta and pesto chicken and smoked bacon sandwich all proving to be a popular this week with the good weather. 🍤

A fresh batch of pea risotto has been made this morning after a sell out yesterday! Come in and get it before it goes again.

We also have our soup and hot pudding deal back this week after the change in temperature, home made rhubarb crumble served with cream, custard or ice cream.

The popular hot chicken special is back with a creamy smoked bacon and mustard sauce as well as plenty of other hot or cold meals to choose from our daily menu.

Due to the power cut this morning, Charlie's had no option but to close earlier than normal this afternoon.

We would like to thank all our amazing customers that still came in after the power cut and were so patient with us while we tried to do lunch service, we managed to serve sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads and soup with the help of our amazing neighbours at the Foyer.
As always the staff have been brilliant.

We hope to be back open tomorrow as normal , please keep an eye on this page for any updates.
