❤️ OUR ROADSIDE STORY ❤️
It started with a little café,
Sitting quietly by the road,
Four walls, a kitchen, tables, chairs…
And dreams it couldn’t know.
We looked beyond what stood there,
Beyond the sign above the door,
And thought, “What if this little café
Could become something more?”
So sleeves went up, ideas began,
We gave the place new life,
And like any small business owner knows…
It wasn’t always bloody nice. 😂
There were long days, early mornings,
Times we questioned what we’d done,
But then the doors would open…
And in you lot would come. ❤️
The kettle would start boiling, ☕
The bacon start to fry, 🥓
Someone would order breakfast
While someone else wanted pie. 😂
Burgers would hit the griddle, 🍔
Hash browns disappear,
And slowly this little roadside café
Became something we held dear.
Because somewhere along the journey,
Something special started too…
Customers became regulars,
And regulars became you lot. ❤️
The ones who share our posts,
The ones who bring their mates,
The ones who walk through that door
And know exactly where they’ll sit and wait.
The bikers started rolling in, 🏍️
With engines, laughs and stories,
And becoming a UK Biker Cafes sponsor
Was another proud part of our journey.
Different people.
Different lives.
Different reasons for being there.
But all sitting under one roof.
And that’s when you realise…
A café can be more than a café.
❤️
That’s why Pay It Forward means so much.
Because we’ve always believed
If someone is having a rough time,
And we can put a hot drink in their hands
Or some food in front of them…
Then we should.
No judgement.
No big speeches.
Just people helping people.
Because sometimes kindness doesn’t need
To change someone’s whole world…
Sometimes it just needs to change
their day. ❤️
And yes…
We’ve tried mad ideas. 😂
We’ve gone live while working,
We’ve planned events,
We’ve changed things,
We’ve ripped things apart and started again.
We’ve probably said…
“THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA!”
Followed approximately three hours later by…
“WHY THE BLOODY HELL DID WE DO THIS?” 🤣
But that’s Roadside.
It’s not perfect.
It’s not pretending to be.
It’s real.
It’s early mornings when you’re shattered.
It’s busy kitchens.
It’s laughing with customers.
It’s worrying when it’s quiet.
It’s absolute chaos when it’s busy.
It’s burnt fingers.
Coffee.
Bacon.
And wondering how you’ve somehow
run out of hash browns AGAIN. 😂
But most importantly…
It’s people. ❤️
Every person who’s walked through our doors.
Every biker who’s stopped on a ride.
Every family that’s eaten together.
Every worker who’s grabbed breakfast.
Every person who’s shared our posts.
Every person who’s told someone else about us.
You’ve all become part of the Roadside story.
And we’re incredibly grateful for that.
Because we’re still dreaming.
We still want to grow.
We still want to improve.
We still want to try things people tell us are crazy.
And we still believe this little café
Can become something much bigger…
Without ever losing what made it special.
❤️ Community.
A place where it doesn’t matter what you drive,
What you ride,
What you do for a living,
Or what kind of day you’ve had.
You walk through those doors…
You’re welcome.
So here’s to everything that’s happened.
The good days.
The stressful days.
The absolutely-knackered-can’t-believe-we’re-doing-this-again days. 😂
Here’s to the breakfasts. 🍳
The burgers. 🍔
The bikers. 🏍️
The coffees. ☕
The laughs. 😂
The kindness. ❤️
And here’s to whatever comes next.
Because The Roadside Cafe Kegworth isn’t finished.
Not even close.
We’re still learning.
Still changing.
Still growing.
Still dreaming.
And if this journey has taught us anything…
It’s that you can build something pretty special
with a little café,
a lot of determination,
some amazing people…
…and an absolutely ridiculous amount of bacon. 🥓😂❤️
This is our Roadside story.
And the best bit?
We’re still writing it. ❤️
