🐷 Why do pigs love mud? 🐷

It might look messy, but wallowing in mud is one of the best ways pigs stay happy and healthy! 🤎

🌞 Natural sunscreen – Pigs can get sunburnt, so a layer of mud helps protect their sensitive skin.
💦 Keeps them cool – Unlike us, pigs don’t sweat, so mud helps them regulate their body temperature on warm days.
🦟 Keeps bugs away – The mud also acts as a barrier against flies and other irritating insects.

To make sure our pigs always have the perfect wallow, we top up their mud with fresh water three times a day, keeping it cool, refreshing and ready for them to enjoy. 💧🐽

Next time you visit, don’t mistake a muddy pig for a dirty one—it’s just nature’s way of keeping them comfortable! ❤️
