Enniskillen Rangers 0-0 Ballinamallard Reserves
The Reserves came away with a point after a closely contested match at the Ball Range against Enniskillen Rangers.
Rangers made the brighter opening with Jason Keenan firing over from , but the young Mallards soon settled into the game and created their first real opening after 14 minutes. Cameron Lucas whipped in a cross from the right for Matty Armstrong, but Rangers’ keeper Joel Peden dived to turn his header around the post.
Calvin Brown was then called into action at the other end, saving well from Keenan after a Rangers effort had been blocked by Lucas. Ballinamallard continued to threaten, with Matty Wilson finding Eoin McAnulla. His clever dummy released Adam McCreery, but McCreery's effort went narrowly wide.
The Mallards came out strongly after the break and almost took the lead within three minutes. Stevie Drumm delivered an excellent cross from the right and McAnulla's looping header beat the goalkeeper but came back off the crossbar. Drumm was again involved shortly afterwards, winning possession on the edge of the box and laying the ball back to Ryan Boyle, whose 25-yard effort flew just over.
Ballinamallard continued to look dangerous on the counter, with Harry Oliver intercepting a pass before finding McAnulla. He drove towards the Rangers penalty area and struck a low effort which Peden gathered. Boyle and Jack Beatty then combined to set up McCreery, but his first-time curling effort was inches wide of the post. Rangers threatened late on when a cross from the left fell to Jordan Breen, but Calvin Brown produced a superb diving save to keep the scores level and ensure the points were shared.
