What a glorious Sunday on the River Orwell!

Breakfast, lunch and supper cruises, special birthdays being celebrated, delicious food coming out of the galley, a drink or two 🍷🥂… and some rather spectacular neighbours passing us by! 🚢😳

From cruising beneath the magnificent Orwell Bridge to getting seriously up close with the enormous ships at Felixstowe, there is always something to see on the Orwell — even a jellyfish decided to make an appearance today! 🪼😂

And in between all that sightseeing… there is time to sit back, relax, enjoy some lovely food and simply watch the world float by.

While our guests sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of the River Orwell, our little galley is a hive of activity. Every starter, every main course and every dessert is freshly prepared and beautifully plated right here on board.

From homemade pâté and colourful bruschetta to our delicious summer pavlova, it’s all about fresh ingredients, great flavours and a little bit of love in every dish. ❤️

A Sunday lunch isn’t just a meal… it’s a three-hour dining cruise, beautiful riverside views and memories made on the water.

Well, the sunshine had to take a day off eventually! ☁️😄

Our first cloudy morning for days on the River Orwell, but still a lovely breakfast cruise with delicious food, homemade muffins, apple pie and some beautiful traditional barges passing by.

Not every perfect river morning needs blue skies.

Daily Breakfast and Lunch Cruises
Relaxed, scenic cruises with beautifully prepared food, ideal for meeting friends, celebrating quietly, or enjoying Suffolk at its most peaceful.

Supper Cruises from Easter
As the evenings grow lighter, our much-loved Supper Cruises return, offering gentle river journeys, wonderful food and a truly special atmosphere.

Summer Dinner Cruises – June & July
Our signature evening experiences, with sunset views, unhurried dining and a wonderfully relaxed ambience – perfect for romantic occasions and memorable celebrations.

As the calendar turns, we just want to say a huge thank you to every single one of you who stepped aboard Allen Gardiner last year. 💙
For choosing slow mornings on the river, long lunches, clinking glasses, good food cooked with love, and proper old-fashioned hospitality (the good stuff, not the rushed nonsense).
A new year means fresh tides, crisp winter skies, cosy fires, and plenty more memories waiting to be made on the River Orwell. Same beautiful boat. Same warm welcome. Same rule: relax… you are on river time now !⛵️
